Ruidoso orders residents to GTFO due to raging wildfire: "GO NOW"

It's a clusterfuck. The mayor and chamber of commerce are telling tourists to "please come spend $$$, it's safe", meanwhile over half the businesses are shut down, massive fire damage, mud everywhere and it's still fucking flooding every other day.

Again?

RUIDOSO, NEW MEXICO! Seek higher ground away from creeks and washes immediately! A flash flood emergency with catastrophic tag has just been issued! Monster debris flow already in progress
Eyewitness video of the flooding in Ruidoso right now. A very dangerous situation. The village has been through so much in the last year or so. The National Weather Service has advised those in the area to seek higher ground immediately.@KOB4Courtesy: Charlie Rivers

Did they have sirens?

Having grown up in Texas, if I hear the big sirens, I'm seeking shelter, not higher ground.

Given the fires/ floods Ruidoso has been through, I'm not sure what hearing the big sirens would mean beyond check the radio/ TV.

This town is cursed:

Security footage shows floodwaters rushing through a backyard in Ruidoso, New Mexico, as the town faced its fourth flood in less than a month.
Here’s some footage from yesterday’s storm. We are currently flooding again rn. ☹️1: Nothing can stop FedEx2:Racetrack 3: Hwy 70 at the Y4: Upper Canyon Ruidoso NM 7/30/25📸 Jesus Figueroa:fb https://t.co/2qsbJNoJBT

I mean, they do call it Ruidoso because of the noisy river…

And all this time, I thought it was a reference to Texan tourists.
