Ruidoso orders residents to GTFO due to raging wildfire: "GO NOW"

Featured Replies

It's a clusterfuck. The mayor and chamber of commerce are telling tourists to "please come spend $$$, it's safe", meanwhile over half the businesses are shut down, massive fire damage, mud everywhere and it's still fucking flooding every other day.

According to this page, yes. I’ve seen a few references in stories online to people saying they heard sirens, but it’s not 100% clear if they were warning sirens or sirens of emergency vehicles.

Having grown up in Texas, if I hear the big sirens, I'm seeking shelter, not higher ground.

Given the fires/ floods Ruidoso has been through, I'm not sure what hearing the big sirens would mean beyond check the radio/ TV.

I mean, they do call it Ruidoso because of the noisy river…

And all this time, I thought it was a reference to Texan tourists.
