I consider myself to be a connoisseur of Summer League. The first one I attended in Vegas was well over 10 years ago. I've made the mistake of falling in love with certain players based on their summe

Yea I thought of that. Guess OKC needs to win multiple championships

Deshaun Watson.

The PG one isn't even that bad compared to other "worst of all times". PG has been good for them at least and it was a package deal to ensure Kawhi signed.

Russillo and Simmons have discussed it at least a couple times.

I still haven’t given up on Rudy Gobert.

Walker Kessler would need one hell of a rebound to even come close to being as serviceable as Rudy Gobert. SGA is already better than PG13 ever was

So ESPN lays off lowe, one of the few that actually watches games? Hopefully he’ll latch on to amazon, nbc or whatever. Watching the NBA countdown desk during the playoffs, I did notice Lowe looked disinterested on the end of the desk while working with a bunch of idiots shouting out nonchalant BS for 30 min

At least they're keeping Lisa Salters.  She watches lots of NBA games. Except she admitted she had never seen Jokic play a single game during last year's WCF.  Quality work there, ESPN. Your sideline reporter has never watched a single game the (then) 2x MVP played.

Wait, what?!? What happened to Lowe? Love that guy's podcast.

Man, fuck ESPN. They put Lowe's content behind their ESPN+ paywall, then fire the guy likely in no small part because his old regulars--including me--no longer generate enough clicks because fuck the entire concept of ESPN+ from a company that's been taking 40% of everyone's cable bills for 4 decades.

that's quite an admission. at first i thought she might have meant she'd never seen him in person but the more she talks the more it makes sense that this is the first she's EVER seen him play.

He’ll be on the Ringer soon. Of course, this will lead to even more SAS.

Yeah, it was fucking absurd.  I remember hearing that when it happened (was 2 WCFs ago - against the Lakers, not one) and I didn't even know what to say.  Her JOB is watching NBA games.

What ESPN needs is more screeching hyenas with spurious basketball credentials yelling over each other during pregame and halftime.

Charley Steiner warned us.

I think Ted Kacynsky (sp) warned us.

Offseason workout videos and weightlifting bodies. We're almost back, baby!

The Zach Lowe thing sucks. Who wants 15 percent more Stephen A at this point?

Apparently the demographic data? At this point, I think we need to blame ourselves that the only real money in "unscripted" programming is two or more people yelling at/over each other.

ESPN has reduced itself to live games, talking heads bleating about clutch genes, and sex tapes.

Minny chose to deal with their cap hell a year before they had to.

Interesting. I thought KAT actually had a really good playoffs for them.

Agreed.  KAT has his issues (mainly that he's soft and has a bloated contract) but that's a really weak return considering he kind of showed out in the playoffs.

He played well against the Nuggets.
this is shit.

hopefully it allows us leverage to resign Naz Reid at least?
Welcome to having some success and not being able to keep the band together. It sucks.

If this is a cost-cutting move at a time when the team is clearly ascending, that's a huge red flag that ownership is cheap and won't spend what it takes to build a winner.  Ant will start counting down the minutes until 2029 when he can become a FA if he loses faith in ownership.

Whoa, that's quite a trade. New starting 5 for the Knicks looks interesting. Not sure how they will do under Thibs, but they should be in contention for the 2nd seed behind the Celtics again.  Still not enough to overcome the Celtics at full strength.

It's cost cutting a year before they have to. 25-26 season will be ugly for them if they don't deal with it now.

He actually played very well after the Gobert trade.   Guess they figured they could get basically the same thing from Randle at a lower price

Towns isn't a serious person. He'll end his career with as many rings as Harden.

I'd be depressed if I was a Knicks fan.

The Dallas series cemented this decision.  Liability on both ends of the floor for most of the series. Great move for Minnesota.

That's honestly a better package for KAT than I thought possible with his full 4 years left on the books.

Kinda messed up for White Donte.   He prolly could've got a little more in FA last yr but wanted to stay with his Nova boys.   They've been partying all summer thinking they were gonna be together still and now this.   Hope he at least has a trade kicker.

Detroit pick is Top 13 protected? Okay, so just a so-so deal for Minny.

Pure gaslighting.

"Randle's scoring" lol. KAT is a much better scorer than Randle. I mean he's just straight up a much better player.

DD is a nice player and it gives them cap flexibility. Agree that it seems like a fairly even trade. JB and KAT could be fun.

Randle has reliably been a net negative in the playoffs in his career, is about to turn 30, pretty moody, and shot 31% from 3 last season.  KAT certainly has his issues but he is objectively much better than Randle.

I think flexibility is definitely the key word. A year at 50% of KAT's salary to see what Randle has left in the tank, then they can trade him as an expiring. DiVincenzo locked in for 3 years on a pretty dirty cheap deal these days.

If that Detroit pick would have been unprotected, it would have been a grand slam. Having it protected makes it only a sacrifice fly.

Spurs have had all the draft luck they need forever.
