June 20, 20241 yr Damn. 'Hunger Games' Star & Veteran Actor Donald Sutherland Dead at 88 https://www.tmz.com/2024/06/20/donald-sutherland-dead-dies/
June 20, 20241 yr How can anyone not like this guy? So many great roles and seemed like such a gentle spirit. RIP sir.
June 20, 20241 yr He was my favorite part of MASH and The Dirty Dozen, and possibly the best English Professor in film in Animal House.

June 20, 20241 yr One of his more underrated roles was JFK. Oliver Stone was lucky if he got 30% of the movie factually accurate, and Sutherland was only in once scene for about 10 minutes or so, but in that short time he was brilliant.

June 20, 20241 yr So many great roles...Hawkeye, AH Professor. Here are couple more. RIP DS Where you from son? ....Never heard of it. Kelly's Heroes...Oddball
June 20, 20241 yr What's with the negative waves? He was an all-timer, pretty much liked everything he was in. If I saw his name, I was watching.
June 20, 20241 yr Don’t forget his role in A Time to Kill. He was great as a bad guy in The Eagle Has Landed. He was also great in Klute, as was his often braless co-star Jane Fonda…she won an Oscar for her role.
June 20, 20241 yr Damn, one of my all-time favorites. One of my favorite role of his was in Citizen X, so good in that along with Stephen Rhea.

June 20, 20241 yr Man, this one stings. As many of you might remember, my avatar forever on this board and the two before was a profile shot of him from MASH, one of my all-time favorite movies. RIP, Hawkeye. Give Hot Lips a kiss for me.

June 20, 20241 yr Also, Max Dugan Returns. That might be my first memory of Donald Sutherland. I saw it when I was about 10.

June 20, 20241 yr I always enjoyed his more villainous roles like Outbreak, Disclosure, and Hunger Games. Snow was a really good villain and it was awesome for him to have a hit like that in his later years. He also was great in cameo roles like the pyromaniac in Backdraft and Mr X in JFK.

June 20, 20241 yr Saw Backdraft mentioned above. Haven't seen it listed in the various obit articles, but agree he was great as the pyro.

June 21, 20241 yr There is a 90's film called "The Assignment" with himself, Ben Kingsley and Aiden Quinn that was really good (at least in my opinion) and never got any due at all. It's a fictionalized story of catching Carlos the Jackal. Sutherland is great in it, but he was in just about anything.

June 21, 20241 yr A bunch of legends in Space Cowboys, but I think oddball is probably my favorite movie character of all time. The next few years are probably going to be devastating with screen legends and rock legends.
