Hope he doesn't self-destruct in 5 seconds.

They switched up the rotation (flipped Phillips and Doyle) for their final SEC series against Arkansas. Not sure why. But yes, Doyle has been the Friday guy all year until last week.

Arkansas hit him hard; hopefully, we do the same. I don't care if we win this tournament, or not, but I'd like to beat Tennessee for a variety of reasons. Either way, just don't fucking get hurt, anyone.

They flipped Phillips and Doyle to keep Doyle on normal rest for the Thur-Sat series.

Yep. That makes perfect sense. And likely kept it that way since they were starting early again this week. Things should change back if they make a Super. Maybe so for the Regional, but I doubt it, since they’ll be a host.

I’m not sure Tennessee will get a host, they are probably playing for one this weekend. They certainly did themselves a favor going 3-1 against Bama this year. I think either Tennessee or Bama gets left holding the bag.

West Virginia and Georgia Tech are throwing a wrench in just taking RPI chalk for hosting spots.

I feel like this is a throwaway game but my fandom is getting crazy and I want to fuck up all these dipshits in the sec. Tenn your first for an asskicking. LFG

Hope Walker throws a gem and Tony V starts going ballistic. That would be good tv

I am really hoping we don't get Oklahoma State as our 3. They are playing well to end the season and have 2 really good front-line starting pitchers.

Yeah that would not be ideal. I can generally get a good feel for what the committee is going to do hosting wise but super conferences have kinda clouded the picture.

Big 12 is still the #3 RPI conference this year yet D1 isn’t projecting them to get a host. Have the Sun Belt getting 2 (which doesn’t make sense to me). Southern Miss took 2/3 from TCU so that is probably hindering TCU’s chances. Given the Sun Belt’s lack of depth this year and the fact that Southern Miss and Coastal Carolina didn’t play each other makes it hard for me to see them getting 2 and boxing out the Big 12

Problem for big 12 is the aforementioned loss from TCU to usm and the fact that West Virginia who won the conference had 1 of the weakest schedules in the country(including in conference)

Now that's a proper draw for overall #1.

Do not want Florida across from us in the super regional. Fuck that

They are pretty hot. They dominated down the stretch and beat us. They are playing like a top 8 seed the last month.

If TCU wins the tournament they won’t host? Idk. That would seem pretty weak sauce.

…and then a top hitter of theirs got beaned on the wrist, right?

I seem to remember a Florida fan on here grumbling that an important dude was done for the season. Happened in their final series of the regular season or something like that.

(No idea who the guy was.)

Not a big fan of that. Both 2 seeds are fairly strong all things considered. I’d take GT to win that regional with ole miss. I also would be surprised if we don’t see one of DBU, UTSA, or TCU in ours

Yeah NCST is pretty far to send a 2 when you have a TCU much closer.  They like to cut down on travel costs. NCST could go to a Georgia or Tenn instead

Just moved back to Austin after years away… is it hard to get tickets to the regionals/what kind of pricing should I expect? Can you get weekend passes?

I don’t like that match up so much, ole miss pitching mowing down the SEC right now. Not sure if it’s lefty filthy stuff or just straight heat, it matters for us which one, but having heard the hit/run counts of their pitching count me a tad concerned.

1 - They are going to move Vandy ip to #1 over us if they win today

2 - They are showing their aggyness even including a&m in their "Four to watch" group.

Yep. I've been saying it for almost a week now. Vandy will get the #1 if they win the SEC tourney.

I’d guess they’ll flip tcu and Oregon state in this scenario for the potential matchup.

They shouldn’t.

Theyre 13-11 in road/neutral games.

Maybe they didn’t play the dregs of the conference, but they did play UF  and the Aggies when they were playing like dregs of the conference.

Since April 1st, they’re 5-2 in mid week games.  Two 1 run wins (a 1 run loss).

We are 16-7 in road/neutral games.

We are 5-1 in midweek since April 1.

They got swept at home by Pig.  Pig swept us at their place.  They lost 2 of 3 at OU including 1 run rule.  We won 2 of 3 with the loss being a lost lead late.  They swept UGA at home.  So did we.  They swept UK at home.  We lost in 15 on the road.  Of the top 4 SEC teams, they only played 1.  At home.  We played 2 including 1 on the road.  That MSU team we swept on the road was 1 game behind UTenn and Bama (MSU won 2 of 3 at Bama).  We finished 3 games ahead of them.

Even in the SEC tournament, they got the #3 choices for OU and UTenn.  We got the UTenn pitcher of the year.

Any system that counts a game against a college #3 starter the same as the #1 pitcher of the year falls short.

Vandy gets a bump because they swept the #39 Xavier.  A Xavier that had a 5 game SEC stretch in early April.  Lost by a combined 57-9.  And 31-5 in the non-Vandy games.  Best win is over Creighton, but they lost 3 to them.  They’ve split with UConn.  Swept by St. John’s.

All good points, yet you ignore the most salient: We are the Evil Empire and the committee fucking loves the Vandy Boys.

You may be correct.

That damn whistler should count against them though.

For us, our draw will be fine.  Maybe not ideal but to host the Regional and Super is the key.

RPI seemingly doesn’t work anymore with super conferences.
