I have the game on in the background. Who hit the HR?

What y’all watching on??

I always enjoyed watching Cam Williams play.

Hey, after the way he ended last year, Howard getting through 3 innings in any setting is a win.

Cole Chamberlain

It looks like Gasparino has tried to shorten his swing.  He's starting higher with hands farther back.

Agreed. He’s pitching pretty decently. Looks like his tendency to give up HRs is still there though.

He just can’t go inside to anyone with consistency

Ruger looks as advertised. Sitting at 94 on the FB

My son is at the game and said Max Belyeau is not playing.  Anyone know why?

Sick

Winfield looks pretty athletic despite getting gunned down there. Gotta think he’s more likely to lead of than Schuessler right?

Schuessler had a little higher OBP and struck out quite a bit less compared to Winfield. Schloss did some interesting things with that A&M lineup. Had Grahovac leading off much of the year and he wasn’t a speed demon.

This is up for attendance from the last couple years?  Was no one there at all the last couple years? Looks like you can just walk up and sit in the fourth row behind home plate.

A bunch of people left after 5

Yeah we left after the third with a three year old but it was a pretty awesome turnout. Fun stuff.

Bottom of the 9th, down by 3, 2 on, 2 outs. Jack O’Dowd at the plate. No Fear

Hey you don’t talk about Jack like that. We’re all lucky to get to watch him.

Good to see Mercer out there

That was impressive. Up to 97.

Riojas and Mercer look like a great combination to finish games.

Riojas was a starter for UTSA last year right? Volantis and Howard both left a good amount to be desired imo.

Yes, as stated in other posts, he is a "Swiss Army Knife."

He could pitch in any place needed, but I think he will be in the bullpen because Schloss likes what he brings there.

The good news is that neither are expected to be top-tier starters. One of them would probably be the fifth guy, right now, and that’s without Grubbs or Whitehead factoring into that list.

The guy to watch as a possible starter is Aiden Moffet.

He has a 90's fastball and good breaking stuff. His problem at LSU was command.

He pitched today and had command of his pitches and was unhittable in his inning of work.

He is sort of like LBJ was, but if Weiner has helped him gain control of his stuff, he could fill one of the starting roles.

Grubbs and Whitehead will also be in the equation at some point in the season as starters as stated.

I didn’t think whitehead was even close to being back? @Hookem2147

Yeah, he won’t be ready to start the season based on what I heard.

Turnout seems pretty high this year. Def up from the last couple seasons

Sunny and 65-70 is a hell of a lot better than 40 with a north wind gusting to 20 like last year. Was so damn cold I left after 3. Year before was like in the 50’s and fog.

Yes it was a great crowd yesterday.

No doubt they took advantage of the weather & scheduled having BEVO out along with signings from the team and the pregame throws on the field for kids/families. Walking in and just seeing the outer sections (L2/R2 and above) being open, you knew it was going to be good. The outer sections have been closed the last few years and that made going even worse as you had to sit in the shade.

Does anyone know when single-game tickets go on sale?

They announced that yesterday during the game (pretty sure the date was the 22nd) that very limited tickets would be put on sale then.

I'm curious about what anybody here thinks of Jonah Williams for this season. He's obviously a true freshman and the team is stacked, so I assume he's not expected to play much? Does anyone know whether he's being worked on as a pitcher? Or OF?

He's a lefty pitcher that throws in the 90's, that's pretty valuable and Texas does have a real pitching coach now.

He can really run and could be used as a pinch runner. He could also be a position player in time, if he stays around long enough.

He's a top athlete in two sports. Will just have to see how it goes, if he wants to stay in both sports and how long he is at Texas.

7 is high. 17-19 is probably more accurate. I hope Schloss is the coach he appears to be and we are a top 10 team later in the season.

No one has an “easy” schedule in this conference, but how in the hell did OU avoid A&M, Tennessee, Florida and Arkansas this season? Their road conference schedule is Kentucky, South Carolina, Alabama, Missouri and Georgia. That is about as friendly as it gets in this league.
