Mendoza wasn’t an aggy commit. Said he didn’t give aggy the time of day when Schloss was there

Mendoza came from Arizona State, where he had a .289 average at the plate.

He is now showing his ability with the bat again and has been pretty steady on defense.

He said when Schloss became head coach at Texas that made the difference and now, he is a Horn.

Just don’t call him an aggy commit bc he clearly fucking hates aggy

My terrible bad.  Misread the story about the other two.

Good read, regardless.  Thanks.  I'm glad Schloss doesn't get butt-hurt over mouthy gamesmanship.

I’m sure he and Mendoza bonded over their mutual hate of aggy when he came and visited Texas

I wouldn't say 5'10" is pint-sized for a 2b Kurt

My guess is we are playing 1 tomorrow and 2 on Sunday.

For sure. Saturday appears to be a complete thunderstorm wash bookended by good weather on F/Sun. My only concern would be outfield conditions on Sunday, especially since it’s grass/dirt, but I would have to assume there’s a pretty good process in place given this is common in the SEC and it’s only projected to be an inch of rain.

I know baseball but I don’t know much about baseball groundskeeping. Anyone here have more insight?

Just add a french drain in centerfield.

Makes sense. Empty the tarp off in the outfield, drain, and disperse any puddles well ahead of time.

If they're in need of a novice groundskeeper I'm available to show up and unevenly sprinkle some pre-emergent by hand and then eat lunch after without washing my hands.

In any event, its precipitous timing that Texas baseball be on the way up again. My 10 year old was starting to get a little too interested in aggie baseball with his friends.

Which french drain do you mean?  Lulz.

I'm willing to be drained by all of them. Even at the same time if they're insistent.

Sounds like your ten year old needs to be put up for adoption.

A bunch of aggy kids made the coach turn on the regional game last year during their lunch break at camp. Well my kid gets to pick what they watch tomorrow. 2005 title game will be showing.

we should be asking @Carl Spackler

the various preceding rankings are amusing given that the top and bottom pix are the same woman. thylane blondeau.

here's the best she ever looked imo. but they did some makeup/editing magic to her tits to make them look bigger than they are.

As long as it's the right blend of Kentucky bluegrass, featherbed bent, and northern California sinsemilla, it should be alright . . . and the outfielders will get stoned to the bejeezus after the games.

I kinda thought they might be, but since there's no penalty for being wrong on the internet I just went with it.

Surprised they haven’t moved the game time up tomorrow. Something smells fishy

Well it is Lent and it’s almost Friday.

So, question answered -- they don't want to play the whole series.

"What is this weather thing you speak of?"

Redneck dolts!

I don't think you're assumption is correct.

Under SEC rules, a Friday doubleheader is NOT ALLOWED unless there is at least an 80% chance of rain on both Saturday and Sunday (Sunday forecast is for no rain).

Why do you think they don't want to play us?  These "redneck dolts" have the best stadium and game atmosphere in college baseball.  There will be 14-15,000 fans and I seriously doubt they are looking for ways not to play us.  The SEC is a different animal than the Big12.  At least 8, if not 9, of our weekend series will require us to play very well to win them.

Unless I read it wrong they revised that ruling to state only if there is a "high likelihood" that a game can not be played on Saturday that a double header could be scheduled for Friday.

It's also corny that the SEC forces two 7 inning games for any Sunday double headers

The most recent SEC Commissioners Manual from Sept 2024 still had the no Friday doubleheader rule.  Maybe they changed it somewhere since then.

It would seem logical to allow Friday doubleheaders so I don't understand that rule.  The two 7 inning games on Sunday rule also doesn't seem to make sense unless the visiting team departure precludes two 9 inning games to be completed.

"best stadium and game atmosphere in college baseball" -- Proof? There isn't any.

They're still Redneck Dolts.

Didn't say shit about the LeftBehinds, don't care.

Lulz.

Ugh. Since most CBB games are now 3.5 hours long, this will overlap the SEC quarterfinals game

Competitive part will last 1.5

Forecasts are ominous … significant risk for high intensity, long tracked tornadoes over all of Mississippi and Alabama tonight and tomorrow.

I just hope everyone has a safe place when, not if, this occurs.

Pierce and Nolan Cain were both mentioned as candidates for the Rice job (opened yesterday) by Kendall Rodgers.

Rodgers said he would consider Pierce the frontrunner. He said Cain would check a lot of boxes as a recruiter but also mentioned that Cain is probably in line for better head coaching jobs than Rice if he waits around.

Gonna be close, cuz neither one can coach third base.

Rice is a good spot for someone like DP.

Decoupling? Does this just mean you have to make separate Foundation donations for the two sports? Anything more to it?

Hopefully on Tuesdays we start seeing Adrian at 3B, he needs reps at that position. Probably will see Chamberlain at C a lot to give Galvan a day off behind the plate. I want to see Tommy bunt every AB tonight just for the practice and my sanity.

Really need Max to get out of his funk, he is getting dominated by fastballs right now. Pretty remarkable we just picked up a road SEC sweep with him going 1-11 at the plate, that 1 was a big one though

Would like to see Flores or Navarre get the start tonight, not that it matters in the grand scheme of things but would rather Bing come out of the pen if that is what he is potentially going to do on weekends.

Didn't Flores start 2 days ago or am I mistaken?

He did, only threw 55 pitches though. If he did pitch tonight it wouldn’t be more than an inning I would imagine. This coaching staff has certainly got creative getting the most out of this pitching staff, been fun to watch
