I am surprised this doesn't have a thread.  Maybe because it started out relatively unknown and grew over time.  For those who haven't seen Season 1:

It's hard to compare to anything.  The animation style is truly unique, it is an emotional rollercoaster, amazingly written characters, with iconic action scenes interspersed.

I went into the show competely blind and that's how I would recommend it.  There's apparently decades of an entire video game world behind it that I didn't even know about until after finishing the series.  None of that matters because the show really does stand alone.

I originally had put it on to distract the kids while I got them ready for bed.  Because there was a "cartoon" on the top 10 section on Netflix and I don't pay attention to parental ratings, what could possibly go wrong?  Anyway that lasted like 10 seconds, I told a friend this story and he was like, "It's a really good show.  There's two sisters and they are trying to reunite, at least watch through episode 3," which is like the undersell of the year.

Anyway: Season 2 trailer CONTAINS SPOILERS.  DONT WATCH IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN SEASON 1.

Season 1 is amazing. Closest thing to early game of thrones I've seen.

Yeah was very good. Pretty solid voice actresses. I think, as it feels like with all things recently, a big problem is s1 came out in 2021, and here we are half way through 2024 waiting for s2. Don’t know if that’s covid, writer strike, or combo, but that’s just too long between seasons.

The end was…tough. I thought it was just a cartoon, glad I watched it with the kids as I had to ff a few scenes. Wife doesn’t watch pretty much any cartoon with the kids.  She came in right as powder died in the last episode.  We were all just quiet.  “Well this seems like a great uplifting show!  Who wants to do something fun?!”  Think the daughter was fighting back some tears at that point.

Yeah it's an emotional roller coaster for sure.
