June 19Jun 19 The shockwave sent through SEC territory when Edwards committed still hasn’t died down. Even people that don’t watch football are getting therapy from the news. If Arrington commits to Aggy, I am not sure the planet will ever recover. Rivers will reverse direction. Magma flows will stop. Sahara will be green again. Ocean currents will change course. These are power moves by Aggy. These kind of recruits will lead them to a…checks notes…..8-4 record.
June 19Jun 19 It looks pretty clear now that some boosters have ponied up some serious dollars, like they did a few years ago when they bought the number 1 class. These commitments are of higher quality than the previous number 1 class. They really are trying to make a move as a result of Texas coming into the conference and having success in year 1. I don’t blame them. It’s now or probably never for their program. It actually makes sense.

It looks worse in retrospect because Jimbo.

June 20Jun 20 Three Things: Aggies reel in four commits, still cooking in June & more By Jason Howell 1. What a week Saturday, June 14 - ATH Kaeden Johnson, Missouri City (TX) Fort Bend Marshall Monday, June 16 - OL Samuel Roseborough, Clearwater (FL) Tuesday, June 17 - RB KJ Edwards , Carthage (TX) Thursday, June 19 - ATH Brandon Arrington, Spring Valley (CA) Mount Miguel ...and still cooking... 2. Here’s some thoughts Remember when Jamarion Carlton “canceled” his visit and Paris Melvin Jr changed his final OV weekend from Texas A&M to Texas…. Boy, last week sure feels like another lifetime. That prediction of a top 4-8 class sure looks well within reach right now, too. Shoot, it may have been too conservative. Sure, you don't want to start celebrating too early. There’s still a long way to go before Signing Day, but even the biggest doubters have to be impressed right now. It also looks like the Aggies are heading for a strong group of in-state standouts in this class. I’ve been saying I expect the class to have a strong Texas flavor, and I’ve been predicting double-digit Texans in the class. With five currently committed, I feel pretty good about the Aggies hitting that mark. I heard some snickering when Mike Elko said, “Kids still get recruited off relationships and feeling. It's such a misnomer that all of the recruits out there are looking for top dollar.” It’s really not that hard to believe. When the numbers are similar, it’s going to come down to other things like relationships, development, facilities, playing time, etc. 3. Thoughts going into the final June OV weekend Buckle up for another fun one... Five commits, some top targets on the offensive and defensive lines and a dynamic athlete... Yep, it’s a pretty big weekend for the Aggies. Over/under for commitments over the weekend from this weekend’s visitors, let’s go with 1.5. The Aggies have some momentum. I can see one, maybe two, this weekend, and more than that wouldn’t be a complete shock. However, I will go with 1.5 as the line, and my prediction is one

June 20Jun 20 Probably the most running elk’s done since high school. Must’ve cut the video off just before he dropped into the orthopneic position.
June 21Jun 21 Well, now we know why they'll have the number one class without laying out any big NIL money. Elko relates to today's youth.

Didn’t they have some very late commits for some of their highest rated recruits in that class? Where they didn’t even visit the campus? That’s a sign that the recruitment is an our bag drop and it should be a sign of a bad evaluation. If the kid is serious at all about doing the work to reach his potential, he’s going to take a real visit.

June 21Jun 21 Unless the 247 page is wrong, that kid doesn't have an offer from Georgia, Alabama, or Auburn. OV's were to aggy, Washington, and Tennessee. Yeah, somethings off.

Yeah, somethings off. Those keen judges of character at UDub were ready for the Johntay Cook Experience, so that seems like a good sign.
June 21Jun 21 So aggy is making one last "all in" push & trying to buy the bestest class ever again by overpaying & making the seriously run programs say "ummm...OK. Good luck with that", right?

When they’re not just moneywhipping a guy, you see posts like Howell on Turntine. Even though they’ve made a ludicrous offer to him, he and his family have not pulled the trigger and are concerned about, you know, actually getting developed for much bigger paydays later. I still think he’s taking the ATM offer due to the alleged gap between it and what Texas finds prudent. It’s just insane to pay major dollars for a guy that isn’t likely to contribute for 2 years or more. I guess he’d start right away out of need at ATM or something.
June 22Jun 22 There's a profound conclusion to this: Not only is Howell guessing. He digs deeper. He's a reporter, afterall. He hears that Turntine is keeping people guessing. That's a whole higher level of sports reporting.
