July 8, 20241 yr Wandavision is near the top of anything Marvel's done in the last 5 years. It's definitely the best Marvel tv show they've done through Disney+. I'll definitely be tuning in, but it looks to be more of a straight-forward "witch" story instead of the complicated psychological trauma/50's-sitcom parody that they did in Wandavision, which is kind of what made the original show so great in the first place.
July 8, 20241 yr Author This feels like it's going more the horror vibe route and that's fine by me. Werewolf By Night was pretty good. Plus it will get people horny with the thought that Mephisto will make his long awaited appearance.
July 8, 20241 yr I heard they were doing a remake of Hocus Pocus, but this is a little different than I expected.

The beginning looks like Mare of Easttown, then there was some scenes that looks like Suspiria
July 9, 20241 yr So I’ve not heard of either of those movies. I hope there will be a recommended viewing list somewhere. Oldest has started enjoying scary movies and it would be a fun marathon.

He does nerdy breakdowns of MCU stuff and there's one for this trailer that I haven't watched. I bet he made the same observation of what movies these come from. The upside down spider walk is an Exorcist reference. Evil Dead will probably play into this.
July 11, 20241 yr This is gonna be so awful. MCU is absolutely trash. I'll watch almost anything with Aubrey Plaza, but this is a pass for me.

July 11, 20241 yr I’m in. Need some series to make for the time wasted on the Acolyte this summer. Also, Katherine Hahn can get it.

July 12, 20241 yr Disney has lost all benefit of the doubt at this point. Trailer was interesting until the plucky ensemble cast of lovable misfits showed up. I’ll have to hear that this is good and then I’ll wait and binge.

September 19, 20241 yr Did not expect to see Kathryn Hahn‘s bare ass and side boobs in a Disney show, so thank you Mouse!

September 19, 20241 yr I really liked the first two episodes. Watched them last night on my phone (was traveling for work). Will watch tonight at home on the big screen.
September 19, 20241 yr I thought the witch scissoring and side boob was a solid start to the series, already miles ahead of the acolyte.

September 20, 20241 yr Better than expected. KH and AP are awesome (duh) but the story seems kinda contrived and more Harry Potter than Marvel, but I’m in.
September 20, 20241 yr Hahn going for it like she always does. Aubrey Plaza doing Aubrey Plaza things. Pretty good. Side boobs most of have been a fun discussion with Iger.

September 26, 20241 yr Terrific 3rd episode. Shining vibes. i see you Zamata with those sweater stretchers.

Yep, good third episode, and I'm surprised they are leaning so hard into the comics stuff (which ironically makes this feel more like a standalone witch series Disney put out before Halloween instead of an MCU series).
September 27, 20241 yr Author They finally said the M word. The Screencrush guy has to be so happy. Spoiler Mephisto
October 4, 20241 yr There's some spoilers out there from FuncoPop about Aubrey Plaza's character, so be careful.

I think that's why I like this - it doesn't feel like an MCU series at all, but some sort of modern day Hocus Pocus Halloween witch show.

Thinking about it, that's how these shows start off, and then go off the rails at the end when they try to throw in all the MCU tie-ins and cgi spectacle.
October 4, 20241 yr now that I've finished my video game and Rings of Power and purchased some new tissue boxes I should watch this next
October 5, 20241 yr I watched the most recent episode while getting a tattoo. This show was the more painful of the two.
October 5, 20241 yr Yeah I'm still watching because Hahn and Plaza, but this is pretty stupid now. How many of you, when Plaza said something like "Who wants to see my nipples?", said "YES" out loud?

October 7, 20241 yr I'm enjoying it. The 4th episode wasn't as good as the first three, but still good.
