2-0 Texas. Fitting end to that set, messy on offense, but close it out with a block.

Got’em right where they want them, now the comeback begins.

19-12 Texas. Last timeout for Kentucky

This is starting to feel a lot like last year's team. Ames also seems like she's starting to figure things out.

Good for Jerritt Elliott because he had a lot of doubters and these last 2 seasons prove that he can really coach. The team has drastically improved throughout the year over the last 2 seasons.

Another easy Sunday for Texas

Wasnt this supposed to be a challenging conference?

I don't know what it is about Skinner.

Apparently, she just doesn't wake up until conference play starts.

Funny enough the Big 12 would have been more challenging this year.

The other Big 12 teams massively upgraded in the offseason after we left. And the SEC looks like crap. We have very easy wins so far in College Station, Baton Rouge, Gainesville and Lexington.

And South Carolina sweeps Florida.

I am not sure we are going to be seriously challenged in conference play, again. But we get a lot of time to keep working out the 6-2

15-1 advantage in sets in our first 5 matches, 4 of which were on the road in front of record crowds. Only dropped that 1 set to aggy

Now 5 straight at Gregory. Good chance to go to 10-0 in the SEC

Avery only 9 assists and 7 digs. Ella had 17 assist and 5 digs. Just shows how good the 6-2 is for us - Avery sometimes is the better setter and sometimes the rotations with Ella are better.

Big 10 and ACC would be way more challenging.  SEC is definitely the weakest of the Power 4 in volleyball.

No doubt, we came in and the SEC decided to suck. Kentucky and Florida are down, which affects the reputation. Big 12 looks like the clear #3. B1G, then ACC now that Stanford is there, and then the Big 12/SEC

Actually would have to put the ACC at 1 with Pitt, Stanford, Louisville, SMU, FSU.  But B1G just as high up there with Nebraska, Penn St, Oregon, Purdue, Minny, Wisconsin. But the top 3 for the ACC > top 3 of the B1G

We are really stuck in the 6-8 spot right now because of our five set losses to Minny and Miami. I think if we got those back and won those, we’d be more in the 4-5 range and potentially on the fringe of hosting if we finished SEC play undefeated.

I think the best we can do is finish 6th if we run the table. Pitt and Nebraska are the clear 1 and 2. And then it’s a jumble after that between Penn State, Stanford, Louisville for 3/4/5. And then Creighton, Texas, Kansas.

Still 7th in AVCA.  Pretty much stuck there until someone directly above us loses.  Pitt wasn't punished for the 5 set loss to SMU - probably because they dismantled SMU a few days prior in Pitt and had to turn around and play them again in Dallas and lost in 5

1 Pitt
2 Neb
3 Pedo
4 'Ville
5 Tree
6 Creighton
7 Texas

9 Wisky
14 Minny
22 Baylor
23 Florida
25 Auburn

RV: Arky, aggy

SMU beat the top 2 teams in the country and yet we’ll have to face them 2nd round in the NCAAs because of the regional bullshit smh

SMU is ranked 12th right now in AVCA and 9th in RPI.  Their toughest matches left are Stanford (in Dallas), Louisville (at home) and FSU (road and home).  if they can split those, they are hosting.

Baylor will likely be sent to Texas as the 2 seed in the Austin subregional and aggy sent to SMU in the Dallas subregional.  Just my guess unless Baylor sneaks into hosting (19th now).  But if you have Texas and SMU, you don't really need a third Texas site.  Then TCU would probably come to Austin.

Now we could end up paired up with them as a 2/3 matchup in Lincoln.  Unless they split us and send SMU to Lincoln with Creighton and Texas to Penn State or Louisville.

I hope Texas will be lobbying for the SEC to fix their schedule for 2025. Texas played 10/6, 10/13 and then won’t play again until 10/18. What the fuck is that? 3 matches in 12 days.

Either start the conf schedule later so everyone plays 2 matches a week and we can schedule an extra 1 or 2 non-conf teams or they’ll be starting it earlier in 2025 to accommodate the SEC VB tournament, and it’s going to be that much harder to find non-conf opponents.

I'm just glad we tend to play really well when facing teams backed by a huge anti-Texas crowd. May it continue on through the postseason.
