My question is simple.  Why is Biden against domestic oil & gas production but is for increased oil & gas production overseas?

We've been retreating from NATO ever since W looked into Putin's eyes and saw his soul. W's words, not mine. We've had a failed policy towards Russia for 4 presidents now.

Maybe read the article.

This was probably covered in this thread earlier but I couldn’t find it. What did Obama and Europe do when Russia took Crimea, and was that a proper response?

Better than a pussy Putin suck-up like Trump. That fucking weakling emboldened Putin.

“Yes, master Vlad. Whatever you say. I’ll be good little boy.”

The answer is always sanctions.

We aren't going to get in a shooting war with Russia over Ukraine.

But we’re they harsh enough? Because Russia took it and kept on going.

And anyone saying Trump would have handled this better is an absolute idiot. He demonstrated multiple times an inability to demonstrate strength when faced with foreign actions.

lmao but completely predictable that the libs here are going orange man bad and blaming trump for Biden's fuckups.

The entire left has been wrong about Russia and a disaster in foreign policy and now they're projecting.  Never forget that.

There's a direct line between Biden's Afghanistan mess and what we're seeing now and what we're going to see across the globe in the next couple years.

What a pussy ass bitch.  Putin knows Biden is weak thanks to the Afghanistan debacle.

A lot of Trump's supporters think he's strong since he insults so many people.

If we cut off SWIFT access to Russia, that's the nuke.  I don't think we'll drop it, though.

Never forget that the mainstream media and 99% of the CR was jizzing all over themselves when Obama said this.

I notice that the right wing fake outrage crew doesn't have a single suggestion on the table.

Let's hear some options from the MAGA crowd.

That’s the thing. He talks like he’s tough but he’s a big fucking pussy and a whiny little bitch. He’s a spoiled brat. He’s a schoolyard bully who picks on anyone he perceives as weak but who will back down whenever anyone stands up to him. He’s the one who’s weak. He’s a fraud. And he can’t make a deal to save his life. He’s a caricature of everything the rest of the world thinks about how shitty Americans can be. He represents the worst of us.

And he’s the best argument against democracy our people have ever elected. He gives every dictator in the world a reason to point and laugh and say, “See? That’s why you don’t want the people to elect their leaders because the people are fools and they’ll elect an incompetent simpleton like that just because he was born rich and has a big mouth.” It’s fucking embarrassing. And it’s disheartening to know that the American people even made him possible.

The man wanted reporters banned from the White House because they asked tough questions.

Epitome of fucking weakness.

Like every single political topic tackled on this board and everywhere else on the internet, the reality of which political party would better handle a particular issue is somewhere between the viewpoints and blind allegiance displayed by the maga crowd and the libs.

Starting with Obama, and probably even well before that, we’ve handled Russia poorly. Letting Putin waltz into Crimea and take it with just minimal sanctions just emboldened him further.

Then with Trump sucking Putin off for four years, Putin became convinced he could take all of Ukraine. The Russian propaganda campaigns in the US over the last several years were focused on keeping Americans fighting each other instead of paying attention to them while they fostered instability in Ukraine. The maga crowd and libs have been all too happy to keep slinging poo at each other while Russia plotted.

It’s a pretty bad situation now. Some are arguing we shouldn’t care that much because it’s only Ukraine. That is an infantile viewpoint that doesn’t even deserve a response.

Biden’s response has been reasonable given all of the circumstances and the fact that Europe is a bunch of pussies. The only other response that would have stopped Russia would be to put 100k NATO troops on the ground in Ukraine and tell Putin to bring it on, but Americans and Europeans don’t want to be the protectors of freedom in the world anymore. So get ready for South China Sea, Taiwan and others to fall within ten years.

I’m not saying you’re wrong about Trump. But how can you not see that Biden is also an incompetent simpleton. Maybe even worse. Trump is an asshole and narcissist but Biden has proved to be a colossal moron.

What would you have Biden do? What makes him an incompetent simpleton? Do you really think that or do you just want to believe that? If you really think that then you’ll be able to say what he should be doing that he’s not. Let’s hear it. Go.

I blame Clinton.  Not because I don't like him, admittedly I don't, but everything around that time seemed focused on the short term, and rushing to draw-down forces and cut deals to try and stabilize things in the short term, and some of those actions would come back to bite us in the ass in the Middle East, North Africa, Eastern Europe, etc.

Granted, none of those around back then could have predicted you'd have a former KGB agent trying resurrect the Soviet Union, but still, we saw the possibility that Yugoslavia would fall apart, that there was shit happening in the ME that needed paying attention to, that some future Russian strongman might push back against NATO expansion.

Crimea is a tough one, given how fast it happened.    Better sanctions could have deterred such moves in the future, and if some folks were more forward-thinking, maybe they would have worked harder to get Germany off the Russian teat.

The US and Europe do not want a nuclear war.

China has more to lose than Russia, and is playing a much longer game.  Putin is trying to cement his little legacy or whatever.  Xi/China is thinking in terms of decades.

What do you want Biden to do?  Get us in a war with Russia?  Because that's basically going to be at the top of the short list of options that are left beyond economic sanctions.

I'm no fan of the guy, but if he could snap his fingers and start meeting Germany's needs and cut off Russia, he would.

We could impose sanctions...or we could finally have that Trump Tower Moscow. You know, the one Trump was negotiating during the 2016 campaign and lying about.

Ummmm…..not sure about your numbers there. That was something I absolutely agreed with Romney on, and thought Obama was cavalier to the point of being reckless.

Russia was and had proven to be a major threat to a stable world order. Of course, the question is and always will be….what would you do about it?

Wanna get in a shooting war with Russia directly? Because that’s the other option, other than putting together a coalition to issue broad sanctions and shipping arms to the Ukrainian resistance. So, chart a different course. Tell us what you would have done in response to Putin stacking up troops on the Ukraine border and now invading.

And of course Putin thinks America is weak; we just had four years of a whiny bitch failed businessman being President.

It’s bigger than that. It’s not that he thinks we’re weak because a pathetic, easily manipulated narcissist was our president (although that’s part of it). He thinks we’re weak because we’re hopelessly divided, which has been his long game goal for well over a decade, and the Trumpkin crowd served him that gift on a silver platter.

Biden would be an “idiot simpleton” no matter what he did here, because reasons. If he has committed American military assets, he’d be an idiot getting us into a war with Russia. If he goes the sanctions and arms short route, he’s a gutless pussy. There’s literally nothing Biden could do that the Trumpkins would find acceptable. So instead of being unified against an incredibly dangerous rogue state….half of our country devotes all of its energy to….hating the other half of our country.

Shit, after setting the table like that, Putin would have been an idiot NOT to take advantage of it.
