“Do not boo. Vote.”

So many campaign shirts that could come out from this speech. I would wear this one.

If she “wins” it will officially signal the fall of the modern Roman Empire. We had a good run though!

C’mon man. Kamala? Don’t fear. Don’t respect. She’s garbage. This is all fake. But if she’s elected, this country is done for. Too bad. But maybe that is what we deserve.

I didn't think it was possible to forget just how masterful an orator he is. But somehow I did. I guess it had been too long. Damn, what a speech.

Not sure about the better angels appeal but it felt nice to think about. Hope is in fact a good thing.

Notice how the crowd shuts up when he interrupts their chanting to continue the speech. That’s how you do it. He’s so unbelievably good at this. Every time I showed one of his speeches in class, I had to also show a radical republican and Christ the replies from students (even my R students) were like “Dr. Pancho, that wasn’t even close.”

I remember taking a speech class in college. The professor understandably was obsessed with Obama. The analysis of the state of the union versus rebuttal from Bobby Jindal was fun.

My mom was a huge fan of Obama. I remember her whispering to me at a family lunch "I voted for Obama, he reminds me of JFK." My sister took her to vote and tried to pressure her into voting for McCain. She really loved Obama, hearing him speak reminds me of my mom.

My favorite part of that hand gesture was not only that it was a dick joke, but it played off Trump's bizarre accordion move.

Like ipihb type of pics?

No, but her sitting on his lap, them with their arms around each other, her looking into his eyes with pure bliss. He was a tennis player, solid dude. Didn’t kiss and tell but he acknowledged that he had been to a place of many men’s dreams.

Michelle Obama: "We will never benefit from the affirmative action of generational wealth."

It would be incredibly difficult to deliver a better line than that. She had a few others, too.

I had the slightest bit of a hunch that he was going to end that speech by introducing Taylor Swift.

God damn, I feel like 20 year-old me after watching a preseason football hype video. I don't know how I'm going to fall asleep.

I thought they might go full unconventional and Kamala walks in. That would be the best confirmation of Obama's support.

Well Trump just ran an ad on cnn. Hilariously out of date- highest gas prices ever, highest inflation in 40 years, unemployment rising. With Harris saying bidenomics in between.

Pro tip:  don't take this line of thought to DT or Business -- they still believe.

Michelle:

"[Kamala] understands that most of us will never be afforded the grace of failing forward. We will never benefit from the affirmative action of generational wealth."

“No one has a monopoly on what it means to be an American. No one." "If we bankrupt a business or choke in a crisis we don’t get a 2nd or 3rd chance…” “we put our heads down” and “do the work”.

"Going small...is unpresidential....Why would we normalize that kind of backward leadership?....America: our parents taught us better than that, and we deserve so much more than that."

"Who's going to tell him that the job he wants is one of those 'black jobs?'"  - the accent she put on "black jobs" was a killer

I was hoping.

So when does it happen? October surprise?

Don’t care. Bill rocks.

If TS isn't going to show up for the Obamas, it makes the most sense for her to appear the same night as Kamala.

For me, the best part was the expression on his face. Just as he made the gesture, he glanced down and acted like he was surprised by how small it was.

She's not upstaging Beyonce, who should be there to introduce Kamala on Thursday. She'll do something in her own time.

I don’t think she will show up. I think she will endorse in the next few weeks, but I bet she stays in the online realm. Would like to be wrong.
