Dallas Cowboys 2024 Season Thread -- Jerrah the Asshat Rides Again

Featured Replies

Pregame talking heads, esp. Rex Ryan, are talking up Anthony Lynn and Deion Sanders for Dallas.  Rex believes Lynn is a really good coach and will be able to handle Dallas.

Ryan also thinks Ben Johnson is young Bill Walsh.  Neither Johnson nor Glenn are being mentioned for the Dallas job.

Lynn gonna give Jerrah the hometown discount?

Why the fuck would he be interested in Dallas?

The Brian Schottenheimer hire is the Jonathan Mingo of trades, the Taco Charlton of draft picks, the Terence Steele of contract extensions, the blinding 3pm glare of stadium designs.

“30 years of dry holes” sounds like my marriage.

Is that you, Ben Shapiro?

If they wanted to keep Dak, yeah.

From a winning perspective, fuck no, it wasn't necessary.

As usual Jerry overpaid for another one of his players(Dak).  One who can is injured prone at that.

@'stache , you still standing by your claim that the Cowboys had no choice but to pay Dak's salary?

Side note- why are we paying qbs this much money?  Evil scheme by jerruh to have 2/3 of the league have their agents point to dak’s contract and say their guy is better so the contract should reflect that?

looking at that and their numbers Mahones should be making $120 million per year

Good point. Just draft Jaden Daniels how come no one else thought of that?

I wish he’d hire Andy Reid, and then when Andy “bundlerooski” “punt pass kick” Reid can’t get the roster to better than 10-7, the failure of the front office will have yet another dagger thrust into it before it shuffles off this mortal coil.

Dallas HAD to pay Prescott.  Finding a QB at his level is impossible.

My sarcasm meter has to be way off. Tell me it is.

If Jayden Daniels lasts beyond three years in Washington, he’ll be the first QB to do that there since Joe Theisman. He was born in 1949.

Look at the Browns. The Texans best QB of all-time is a debate between Matt Schaub and Diddy Watson.

So Jerrah overpaid for a middling QB who disappears at crunchtime.

That fucking worked.

I like Andy. I wouldn't wish JJ on him.

You realize we're tied to Dak. There is no tanking for a top QB.

An all NFC East NFC Championship game.

We 100% work under different impressions of what the word "impossible" means.

You mean we the Dallas Cowboy fanbase and Jerry Jones...

Exactamundo. Get a decent staff with modern football knowledge. Or even better, future football knowledge.

The lazy route analysis seems relevant. As was the importance of a strong running game to take teams out the two safety look.

Sadly, some of that reminded me of Sark’s struggles.

Because fuck him, that’s why, Green Bay was unforgivable.

What? Cowboys should have won that game. Couple different plays and Cowboys win it by double digits. And Aggy was only three plays away from playing in the national championship tonight.

Some of that also could explain Dowdle's decent season stats. They looked pretty good, but it was largely because the defense really didn't GAF about him. Useful, but not that dangerous.

Cross Ben Johnson off of the Cowboys coaching search list--Bears

He should have held out for a better team.

It was DQ’s defense that was a gaping vagina vs Green Bay last season. Totally embarrassing that they couldn’t get off the field, besides a TV time out.

Hook’em!!!

Andy was too much of a loyal believer in upchuck McNabb. He would probably be the same if he had Dak. He just lucked out and got an actual big game qb in KC, after several teams passed on him.

Nobody had any interest in mccarthy when we hired him either

Or this time, passed over by Bears, and I read Saints are the last possibility, if they're desperate.

I'm fucking done.  I'd have lived with Moore(though not really the right move)...or even Sala.

Deion would have least been an entertaining fuel to the fire that is this Circus.

This would be absolutely insane.

Schottenheimer seems like he's one of the biggest problems. The offense is so predictable. But I guess his name sounds like a decent coach.

I'm going to keep believing this is a tweener interview until they line up a more serous candidate. I mean, if you have to name an incumbent, Zimmer, or Al Harris, maybe. The defense was coming around, and Zim wasn't a horrible head coach for the Vikings.

This

we are going to fully run it back with everyone, just sub schottenheimer for mccarthy.

That’s the best they could do I’d guess. No coach in their right mind would agree to coach a team Jerry Jones runs - it’s worse than coaching at Rice.

Jerrah looks for a coach by unzipping his pants and then judging who sucks the hardest. He still dreams of getting the credit for an SB and a real coach that is seen as driving the bus is not what he wants. Parcells was hired to build the stadium and once that passed he was gone.

I get the sense it's gonna be Kellen.  That's why they're just spinning their wheels, staying in the headlines, until Moore's playoff run is over.

Jerry threw out Schottenheimer to piss everyone off so we can be relieved when he hires Moore.
