The Brian Schottenheimer hire is the Jonathan Mingo of trades, the Taco Charlton of draft picks, the Terence Steele of contract extensions, the blinding 3pm glare of stadium designs.

Arch will be the #1 pick in '27.  He is not leaving after one year. And I don't wish the Cowboys upon any Longhorn.  They should avoid the Cowboys every chance they get.

...unless his dream team gets the #1 pick.

But is that Dallas?  hahah doubtful

Hey, Dallas is in Texas and maybe he's a fan of the state of Texas in general.

Releasing the news at 9 pm on a Friday night means they were embarrassed.

It's the same reason for other Friday news dumps. Kick the presser to Monday.

Been there for a while. I go into the draft hoping they avoid the shit show around here.

Now I’m waiting for news of Jason Witten being signed to the coaching staff.  He’ll be the HC after Schottenheimer.

Edited by Jive Turkey

I'm not happy about it, but I prefer him to midget genius boy Kellen.

We'll just have to see if the offensive staff greatly improves, and hope Brian is a better play caller and game manager than McCarthy, which isn't a high bar. It is more or less the same shit as before. Maybe a better new OL coach, WR coach that can get something out of players not named Lamb, and an OC that can breath new life in a worn out scheme.

I'm good with that. There is already an opening for TE coach.

Arch and Coop would and should do the same thing Eli and Archie did to SD

Prolly some DEs from Michigan or WR from nowhere west state

Well there is a pretty decent RB from Boise State, so they can get that pipeline going again.

And his name is Schottenheimer, yet after 25 years coaching in the league no other dipshit GM ever thought of him as head coaching material before.

Fuck the Dallas Cowboys and fuck you, Jerry Jones. I've had it with this crappy team.

Jerry and Stephen have done some really dumb things over the years but this ranks as the dumbest next to running off Jimmy Johnson.  why would anyone buy season tickets for next year?

Pretty obvious that the serious candidates noped the fuck out after talking with Jerry and Stephen so they were just like fuck it, this guy is fine.

Just gonna get this out of the way now.....

Does Jerry have a dying wish to be the most hated Texas Pro Sports franchise owner and take the title away from Bud Adams?

I fucking love it.  I'm here for all of it.

and what if he's good?  what if brian schottenheimer takes this team, with dak prescott, to a super bowl championship?  jerry will be able to say that it was his decision and his alone, that he was the only one who knew, and he GM'd the hell out of it.  that's why he's in the hall of fame.

Slater just tweeted that Witten is not under consideration for being on the staff.

I’m out. Been a fan since 1979, but it’s over.

Might as well have gotten Jeff Fisher.

it seemed like witten to the staff was a ticket narrative.

This is fucking 8-D chess. Play like shit for 3 years. Pile up draft picks. Blame the crappy coach and staff. Wait for Sark and Arch to become available at the same time. Stephen has started putting more arsenic in Jerry’s coffee.

Its almost mind blowing , that someone that has had this much success can be so fucking godamn , fucking silly , stupid , fucking idiot , cheese dick loving sack of shit having , cunt face bitch as Jerry Jones

Should be a great intro press conference

I wish I they were publicly traded so I could short their stock.  It’s down at least $250k right now

If Witten wants to be a HC in the NFL, he needs to get on a staff and start putting in his time. I’m sure he could get on legitimately with other franchises. Instead he’s coaching HS.  The Witten narrative makes no sense.

Holy shit. They really did take it out with the trash. You dump the news of your next head coach the Friday before Championship Weekend. How the mighty have fallen. This is all likelihood Jerry Jones last hire and it perfectly sums up what he's done to his own franchise because he's too fucking stubborn to hand it over to someone who knows football.

I’m done.
The first football game I remember watching was Super Bowl VI in 1972 when the Cowboys beat the Dolphins.  Roger Staubach, Drew Pearson, Bob Lilly and Tom Landry were my boyhood idols.

I remember my Dad disavowing the Cowboys after the way Jerry fired Landry.  I knew there needed to be a change, so I wasn’t as unforgiving as Dad.  The three Super Bowl victories in the ‘90s validated me sticking by them, although I started having doubts when Switzer was hired.

Five or Six years ago I became an ambivalent fan. I vowed not to give Jerry another dime, refused to go to a game even if someone else was paying.  I was ok with the Cowboys winning or losing.  If they won, it was good because I was a fan.  If the lost, I was okay with that too because I knew it probably upset Jerry.

Now, I will actively root against Dallas until the Jones’s are no longer part of the team.  I realize this is probably a lifelong decision for me, but whatever.

Whenever I see Jimmy in that turtleneck my heart skips a beat thinking what could have been, and I get a bit flustered like a Karen asking Jerry to speak to the manager to fix this shitshow.

I would literally rather have Mack Brown. Or Major Applewhite. Or Tom Herman.

Fuck, was Charlie Strong not available?

It's all about money. Schott has the worst resume in the league. Jones must be the cheapest SOS on the planet. He is the proverbial king who sits on his throne counting his money while the world around him goes to shit. He must be greedy beyond belief. An embarrassment to all of Texas.

Three guesses why Jimmy bailed, and the first two don't count.

I think Jones secretly  hates Texans. Possibly because the Longhorns beat his precious Razorbacks so many times. He is a bane on the state of Texas.

Fuck, he may even hate Cowboy fans

I don't feel good about this at all. But I don't feel any worse than I did when McCarthy was hired. Same shit, different era.

it’s so out of left field, what if it works?  what if schott brings the attitude and the culture this team needs to get over the top?  I mean WHAT IF?

You have it all wrong. It isnt about money, it never has been. It is 100% about control. That is it and that is all.
