April 16Apr 16 Tyron Smith is retiring and is signing a 1 day contract so he can do so as a Cowboy. He was a good one. I will always remember him for wearing a knee brace on his elbow because there wasn’t an elbow brace in his size available.

April 23Apr 23 Jerry Jones says Cowboys working on 'pretty substantive trades' First few lines... Spoiler The NFL draft is two days away, but the Dallas Cowboys are still looking at ways to improve other than the 10 current selections they have over seven rounds on Thursday through Saturday. Owner and general manager Jerry Jones said after Tuesday's predraft news conference that the Cowboys are working on "pretty substantive trades" regarding players, although he offered no specifics other than saying they are taking calls with teams. The Cowboys have made trades for quarterback Trey Lance, wide receiver Jonathan Mingo, wide receiver Brandin Cooks and cornerback Stephon Gilmore in recent years but have not made a blockbuster deal since the midseason addition of Amari Cooper at the trade deadline in 2018. Earlier this offseason the Cowboys made trades for linebacker Kenneth Murray Jr. (Tennessee Titans) and cornerback Kaiir Elam (Buffalo Bills). It will be entertaining to see his definition of "substantive"

April 24Apr 24 Looking at the current ebb and flow of the draft stuff, DT looks like a decent quality heavy position in the area where Dallas would be picking, either at 12 or a few picks down either way. Depends on the run on positions, how many QBs are taken. DT, or an OT they love that dropped a bit, one of the WRs seem like the better bets. I'm not hating the idea of a trade down a few spots if a higher rated prospect doesn't slide a bit more than expected. If there is a really good OT there that could challenge either side that would be great. A dominant interior DT would be great. I'm definitely rooting for moar qbs taken ahead of the Cowboys pick to get a better prospect to slide down a bit. Lots of ways to go position wise, though. Don't reach. Edited April 24Apr 24 by DougO

They tend to stay put and nail a good pick when they have a pick that high. Just depends on their really really want list and how it flows. If they drop down too far it would probably be one of the dumpsterfire picks where their guy gets taken one spot in front of them. They need multiple really really wants where one would definitely be available a few picks later, or they likely stay put. They tend to do well in this area of the draft.
April 24Apr 24 I hope it isn't a guard at 12. It's just not good football math, whether it is a hit or a miss.
April 25Apr 25 Wet gonna end up reaching a bit for golden or taking walker. I just hope it’s not a fucking guard. Ooo Loveland over Warren. That’s interesting

April 25Apr 25 So when the offense is stifled next year cause Lamb is Bracketed and they have not dynamic TE or opposing WR, not to mention some 5th round RB(cause I guarantee they take a DB round 2/3) we’re gonna love this. I know everyone hates Dak and thinks he sucks. But they’re really just undercutting him even more by not getting any weapons. There is not a 2nd round WR as good as anything in the first. And a RB will be great but they’ll get one of those later anyways.

April 25Apr 25 I was expecting Jerry to trade up to select Anthony Davis. Because defense wins championships.
April 25Apr 25 S. Jones "hi, uh Tampa, we'd like to uh, move back. yeah, how about your 6th and the 1st...uh, yeah I don't know..." S. Jones totee boy "uh Sir, we are running out of time, we need the pick" S. Jones "I don't know, don't rush me, who is the best guard on our board?" totee boy "Booker Sir" S. Jones "yeah, go with him, hurry"
April 25Apr 25 going to be interesting to see how many more picks before a guard goes. at least we didn't take a Michigan DT again.
April 25Apr 25 The Texans called. They would have dropped to 25 and the Texans low balled them. if there’s no one serious about moving up they’re fucked.
