July 26, 20241 yr Deserves it's own thread IMHO: Canada's men's and women's soccer teams have relied on drones and spying for years, sources say Coaching staff and contractors working with Canada’s men’s and women’s national soccer teams have been engaged for years in efforts to film the closed-door training sessions of their opponents, including during the women’s gold-medal winning Olympic tournament in 2021, sources told TSN. Marsch knew about this and tried to get them to stop it. https://www.espn.com/olympics/story/_/id/40644498/olympics-2024-canada-coach-likely-knew-drone-spying-coc Quote Blue confirmed that the men's team "attempted drone usage" to gather information during the recently concluded Copa América in the United States, and added that coach Jesse Marsch subsequently denounced the practice to his staff. He said it was his understanding that it did not have an impact on the competitive integrity of the match but would not offer details. Blue said Marsch was "aware of it after the fact at a minimum." July 26, 20241 yr I think it's funny. Then again, I never got that triggered over Spygate and Deflategate so ... Also, kudos to Marsch.
July 27, 20241 yr Canada's womens team has been docked 6 points for the Olympics and their coach suspended for a year.

July 28, 20241 yr Not really sure how this would help much. Soccer doesnt really run plays, the games are dynamic and reactionary. The information gleaned from this practice would yield very little fruit at best. And LOL at the people thinking Marsch was in the dark on this. He probably didnt really like it but let them do it and said if we get caught then yall gotta cover for me.

July 28, 20241 yr Formations, cross coverage, who goes up at certain times. There are areas, but I don't think it would help that much. Oh, and to do it on heavily watched airspace? Fucking idiots.

July 28, 20241 yr They will never be awarded a large tournament in the futur… Check that.….ANOTHER huge tournament…
July 28, 20241 yr Lol Canada may still advance with -6 points applied to their team. They just need to win one more game and for USA to beat New Zealand.

Australia. Actually their path is wide open if you get down to it: The first thing they need to do is win And then one of the follow: France loses - they are 2nd in their group Germany loses Australia loses Japan loses Brazil loses Any of the last 4 will give them a 3rd place birth.
July 29, 20241 yr I left a team out - Colombia, they also can lose to advance Canada. And they play France! Seriously - if I were those two I would get together and say "draw and we're good." Some serious Gijon action.
