I understand the intent of the 15m rule, but I kinda liked it at the 1988 Olympics when the swimmer caused the rule to be created in the first place by swimming so far underwater. Was genius.

The Berkoff Blastoff is hilarious to watch. He's in Lane 4:

This was fun to watch, but the fact is that these events are called the backstroke, butterfly and breast stroke. And clearly in freestyle you are allowed to use the front crawl. None of these events are called the underwater dolphin kick.

It was interesting watching the speed indicators - you can tell that the underwater kick is a vastly different stroke. I think I saw in one of the backstroke races underwater someone was going 2.2 meters/second. When they hit the surface that dropped to around 1.7 meters/second. Its a massive difference.

The Berkoff Blastoff. One of his kids is in this version of Olympics. Similar to Fosbury Flop in that he came up with a new and unique way to do the event. Unlike the Flop they quickly banned it

The US men’s swimmers are running out of chances to win their first gold medal of the Olympics

Individual gold. They won the 4x100 free.

Great swim by Marchand.  Didn't get Lochte's record.

Foster just got out touched for Bronze.

It was cool to see Macron in the stands for Marchand's win

For those who are more knowledgeable about swimming and technique, what are your thoughts on Pan?  This is a video on him a few months ago about his technique.

Dressel nearly broke his world record at the trials.

Then he doesn't make the finals?

Something is wrong with him.
