We don’t shoot 3s (much, or well) and you’d never get guys like Tre. Men want to run and gun and shoot, not just play defense for 35 minutes a game Also this team could never execute Vic’s system - I’m not sure Shedrick could hold up against Smiley, he’s too soft on the interior
February 14Feb 14 Post See new posts Conversation Charlie Creme @CharlieCreme Notre Dame made 14 3's tonight. Texas made one. Both with comfortable wins (ND on it's way). What a contrast in styles. When they played earlier this season it went to OT. Just shows there is more than one way to win. This is what is going to make March so fun.

Again I dont know shit about shit…. but Vic could double his salary if he swapped places with RT The men's game is drastically different from the women's game. The men's game is played above the rim and the X's and O's are different. The talent pool is much, much deeper. There is much more money in the game and recruiting is much more competitive. The influence of the NBA is lurking all around and the WNBA's influence doesn't come close in the women's game. Vic is an awesome coach and exactly where he should be to maximize his success as a coach. He wouldn't automatically excel the same way in the men's game. My advice to you, or anyone, is to simply enjoy the women's game for what it is and the men's game for what it is and stop trying to compare the two.

Unrelated to women's basketball but I can't wait to hear what you have to say in the spring with regards to the two new coaches we will have. You were high on Baker early on based on the feedback you received.
February 14Feb 14 Assuming we don't win a national title in women's basketball this season, who gets one first at Texas: Vic, Sark or Schloss? I know it depends on an endless number of variables, but I could see any of the three ultimately being the right answer. Let's go ahead and get one for the women and watch the other two guys battle it out for next.

Let's blast LSU and MSST and splash some water on that notion. I don’t think it’s the media. It will be interesting to hear the committee’s justifications today - especially as it pertains to NET and Q1 wins and quality losses. Texas has the edges on both ND and USC for all 3 - better NET, more Q1 wins, better quality losses and is in the top NET conference. ND has the H2H on Texas but the ACC is the third best conference and they have 2 neutral site losses to Big 12 teams, which is the 4th ranked conference in NET. If Texas wins today and SoCar loses to UConn, could see Texas bump up within the 1 seed tier. Right now it’s UCLA/SoCAR/ND/Texas (or Texas/ND, depending on what the committee is focusing on) - could see the best bracketology have Texas as the #2 or #3 overall seed. If you beat SoCar, Kentucky and LSU within a week, and your only other losses are on the road to top 5 NET teams… Texas is building a good case for #2 or #3 overall Edited February 16Feb 16 by Js1
February 16Feb 16 Crème: The competition for the No. 1 seeds is down to six teams for four spots. Despite USC's thrilling win over UCLA on Thursday, the order of those top six remains unchanged for now. The Bruins had built enough of a cushion to absorb a loss and stay the No. 1 overall team. And the Trojans, who now have wins over UCLA and UConn, are blocked from the top line by Texas and South Carolina -- which lead the country with 10 Quad 1 wins each -- and Notre Dame, which has victories over USC and Texas and the same number of Quad 1 wins as the Trojans (7). USC would be a No. 1 seed if the Longhorns hadn't beaten the Gamecocks on Sunday. The March 1 rematch between the Bruins and Trojans could be the game that changes the makeup of the top line. LSU, the sixth team vying for a spot on the top line, faces a No. 1 seed elimination game on Sunday against Texas. If LSU loses in Austin, the chase for a top seed is down to five teams.

My guess is Q1 wins trumps H2H here - Texas has 10, ND has 6 SoCar still has an overall better body of work and NET than us, and they did beat us by 17 in Columbia, so they get the nod over us for #2 Edited February 16Feb 16 by Js1
February 16Feb 16 ND is going to be an incredibly difficult out for anyone. They haven't lost a game since getting Westbeld back and have been blowing out just about everyone. That ND vs Texas game was really interesting because they didn't have Westbeld yet. We were also playing the big lineup too many minutes with Moore and the 2 FR (Lee/Preston) hardly played. These are two completely different teams now. I wouldn't be shocked if these are actually the 2 best teams in the country.
February 16Feb 16 Edwards and Kitts are good players but they just don't have a legit center like they did last year in Cardoso. They're really soft in the paint and those physical guards have helped hide those problems against inferior competition. South Carolina is going to have issues with any team that has physical bigs as we saw in Austin.
