While I think both teams are #1 seeds, the LA rivalry continues tonight. Best game of the day for the women -

Pretty much what we all knew. We’ve survived this long without her because Jak has been a really good replacement. Shes long and can guard all over the court with her wingspan, rebounds offensively well, passes well, etc

Well, Florida beat the snot out of Georgia and barely beat msu, at least their games’ margins are similar to our games with them.  Don’t know if messaging is necessary but I’m sure something could be made of that.

Haven’t beaten a ranked team all year - losses by 10, 16, 23, 13, 22, 38, 8 and 24

I think Texas wins by 13-19. Finally back home, a win clinches a share of the SEC and senior day.

Well, it would be nice to play all four quarters, instead of one.

Any high school score updates yet?

The Liberty Hill (TX) varsity basketball team lost Saturday's neutral playoff game against Monterey (Lubbock, TX) by a score of 64-35.

USC not having much trouble with UCLA yet

UCLA with a little run, 23-20 USC after 1

Betts should keep the ball high. Bringing it down is causing her problems.

I’m not impressed with USC or UCLA. I never can figure out what UCLA is doing on offense 90% of the time and they turn it over too much

USC is going to run into a reffing crew like tonight who won’t hesitate to call those fouls in the tournament. They reach in a lot. Slow down JuJu and her teammates don’t seem capable of stepping up.

If UCLA ran an offense, they might be up in this game after their 3rd Q defense on JuJu

Aston is a decent coach. 4 Sweet 16s and an elite 8 at Texas. She will probably get a decent gig soon.

I view her a lot like Pierce. Good but not good enough with expectations. Honestly, aggy could do a lot worse than Aston.

I will say it's kind of odd we fired somebody like Aston but not Angela Kelly.

Both have results but I view Aston as a tier above Angela Kelly. My only guess is that the reason we made a move in women's basketball is because CDC had Vic lined up. I think it's probably more difficult to pull that type of coach in soccer considering facilities, our lack of history, and how far soccer is down on our priorities.

Yet we pulled stein metzger from ucla for beach volleyball without having a facility or a program.

It probably has to do with the history of wbb at Texas.  We are a historic program in that sport with a national title, whereas we do not have much of a history in soccer at all.  There are probably a lot more people/alumni who care about the Texas wbb team succeeding than the soccer team that may not have existed when they were in school.

I think CDC just had Vic lined up. We went from a top 25ish coach to a top 5ish coach. That type of upgrade you take if it's available.

I actually think it took some pretty big balls to fire Aston. She's a good coach as she's showing at UTSA.

USC took the B1G last night after sweeping UCLA

ACC - ND hosts Louisville and NCST is at SMU. If they both win, I believe NCST wins the regular season due to H2H

Big 12 - winner of TCU/Baylor is the champ

SEC - Texas hosts UF and SoCar hosts UK. If they both win, they split the title and decide #1 seed by a coin flip

I would love to see Texas match up with UCLA. You double Betts with one of Jones/Oldacre + Jak’s wingspan and force the guards to make plays. They spent too much time last night standing around. And most of the 3rd Q, they had Betts at the top of the key and ran possessions without her ever posting up. Like the kept trying to run a pick and roll with Rice but Betts never rolled.

ESPN Analytics gives Texas the third best odds of reaching the final four - right around 50/50

Notre Dame looks like they have forgotten how to play basketball.

Cori Close is such a bad coach. No idea how she can’t do shit with Betts. Gottleib totally outcoached her

Gottleib out coaching anybody says a lot about Cori Close.

Put your 6’7 post at the top of the key to pick but she doesn’t roll. Couldn’t handle double teams at all. I don’t get it. They play out of control and just absolutely take bad shots. Betts doesn’t take any shots outside of the paint.

With Chavez in attendance today, let's show her what her future really looks like.

NCST and ND both won, so the ACC is a shared title and NCST is the #1 seed. Think the further NCST goes in the ACCT, the more likely they are to move up to 5-6 and away from us

Not sure why Jak is taking or handling the ball so much. So far it’s just turnovers or missed shots
