April 1Apr 1 SCAR opens -4.5. Books aren't giving either UCLA or Texas any chance at beating UCONN but giving SCAR a... pretty decent chance at beating UCONN? Which... seems strange to me since the SCAR/Texas line is fairly tight. Bruins are getting 7.5 against UCONN. Edited April 1Apr 1 by ztejas

April 1Apr 1 HVL and Prince being totally (wo)manhandled by our D was so satisfying to watch. Shoutout to everyone involved in making that happen. And huge props to the ladies who made clutch shots at key points. Despite that lockdown D, the outcome hung in the balance because we again missed a ton of chippies. The baseline jumpers from Rori and Maddie, that 3 from Lee and the several clutch scores and steals from Kyla were so critical. Just a gutsy effort all around.
April 1Apr 1 Yep - Vic was ready this game, defensively. Prince - 1-4, 2-2 FT, 9 rebounds, 2 turnovers, 5 fouls (lol) HVL - 3-15 FG (lol), 10-11 FT (okay SGA wannabe), 7 turnovers
April 1Apr 1 Vic will be on OTF tomorrow morning early so tune in at the beginning of their live around 8:15 am CST.
April 1Apr 1 Sedona was still talking mess about Texas in the postgame. Campbell was doing his best to spin those comments in a positive light. Basically saying we mentally destroyed her and she had to transfer

Never get complacent, always go after the best players as long as we’re smart about it. Don’t want to mess with team morale or cause a stir in the locker room but always plan to get better. Besides we could definitely use the shooting Edited April 1Apr 1 by D3zii

April 1Apr 1 Author Was Prince an Aston recruit? Also, the media has already set the Championship game and winner of that game, and Texas is neither of those so there’s no reason to not play loose on Friday.

April 1Apr 1 Been reading about a lot of locker room issues at ND due to Hannah Hidalgo being a virulent homophobe. Good for Miles getting away from that trash I will never understand people like Buck Burnett and Hannah Hidalgo. How you gonna be outwardly racist or homophobic when a good chunk of your teammates are black or lesbians?

April 1Apr 1 Author The biggest homophobes are those who are gay themselves and refuse to admit it. Just looking at Hidalgo (and I shouldn’t do this but I have), I thought she was a lesbian herself.

April 2Apr 2 Team must have flown right home and then left this morning for Tampa. Had a nice send off in ATX
April 2Apr 2 Maybe I'm too optimistic, but I think this team is going to will themselves to victory. USCe got stomped at home by UCONN by 30. They're not some juggernaut. We aren't beating them by 39, but I can see us winning by 6-8.
April 2Apr 2 Author Well for us, there’s no reason to not play loose and your best game(s) of the season. - You got the EE monkey off your back - You’re in the Final Four and NO ONE is taking you seriously or expects you to win - They’ve already penciled in Souf Carolina and UCONN for the NC with UConn winning the NC That’s all the words you need for your Friday morning sermon if you’re Rev. Vic
April 2Apr 2 Plus you followed up one embarrassing loss to the Gamecock with a huge statement win against them. You just had an embarrassing loss to them in the SEC tournament. Sounds like a recipe for a statement win I’d be showing them film of MSST beating UConn in the final four. It’s decided on the court, not in the media Edited April 2Apr 2 by Js1
April 2Apr 2 The TCU coach can recruit, but his in game adjustments in the Texas game were trash. Texas was pressing the inbounds and he would run exactly zero plays to get a player open for a pass...no picks and, most of the time, he had only 1, maybe 2 players as available options. I would think after the second or third 5 second call that you would make some adjustments, but nothing.
April 2Apr 2 Lol people are dumping money on UCONN. I'm just not convinced they're THAT good. The OU win was impressive I guess but USC gave them a decent game without JuJu. Outside of that it's been ages since they've played a top flite team.

I would love to see how Vic would handle bueckers if we can get there.

UCONN lost to Tenn 10 days before that game.
April 2Apr 2 My question with different matchups usually boils down to can Texas shoot the ball decently. They generally defend well enough to hold opponents below average, but their own shooting can be variable even without facing a tough defense.

April 2Apr 2 6 minutes ago, Pato del Muerto said: They generally defend well enough to hold opponents below average Well below, in most cases. But yes, the question is always - can Texas shoot? or more accurately - Can Booker make those middies Can our posts not blow a bunch of layups Can Holle or Lee hit a couple from deep For all the guff about how amazing SoCar is - they trailed in the 2nd half in their R32, S16 and E8 games. Yeah, they won, but they didn't have a bunch of dominant victories. Texas went wire to wire against TCU Illinois' largest lead was 2, in the 1st Q I think we trailed in the 2nd half of the Tenn game for about 2 minutes, and it was a 2 point deficit South Carolina had a 3 point deficit in the 3rd Q against Indiana in the R32 Maryland had a lead over SoCar for about a 4 min stretch of the 3Q Duke led by as many as 6 in the 3rd/4thQ Edited April 2Apr 2 by Js1
April 2Apr 2 Author If Booker is making her mid-range jumpers, then its going to be a great night for Texas. If those are missing (same with Rori), then Texas will take their Final Four swag and head back to ATX early.

I remember another undersized PG who used to have a money floater in the lane (McCarty). Feels like Rori had that in her bag as a freshmen but lost it with the ACL tear. I’ve seen Preston bust it out a few times

April 3Apr 3 If we can just make 90% of the layups you seldom see anyone but us blow, I'll be OK with the outcome. Even if we don't make a 3 and lose by 10. Nothing makes me crazier than missing open 2-footers. And there's been plenty of blame to go around on that.
April 3Apr 3 I dunno man, I saw a lot of missed layups and putbacks across the elite 8 I wish our mid range shooters utilized the backboard more. But that takes skill to locate it perfectly.
