And I’ll say this - Spurs fans totally get this season was a disaster. The heart of this season the team had a starting line up of injuries. WE DID NOT CRY ABOUT THAT. And yeah we finished 1

I read in the Fotmob match commentary that this is his 23rd London derby match and he’s still never scored a goal. His peak at City was underrated but man he is completely washed.

y’all ever think about the fact that “no more than they deserve” and “no less than they deserve” mean the exact same thing? 🤔

Vítor Pereira has done an amazing job at Wolves. They had 9 points from 16 games when he was hired. After today they will have 41 points from 34 games. They’ve won 6 league games in a row (longer winning streak than even Liverpool have managed in the league this season).

Liverpool working Spurs again. But showing their championship quality today. Worthy champions.

Agree. I’d imagine the celebrations at Anfield felt “double,” given how CoVID restrictions robbed them of that communal experience in 2020.

Hat tip, Surly ‘Pool supporters.

Alexis MacAllister is criminally underrated in the premier league. Just an absolute A+ player every week.

lulz, kind of funny. props to the champs.

Clearly hand ball... Didn't need to, either. Lucky to stay at 1-nil. Sloppy defending by Villa.

No Vardy, no party

38 years old with 8 goals for a shit Leicester team. 199 career goals for LC. Playing in the 6th tier at age 24. What a career.

Is it petty?

Yup.

Is it why we love sport?

Yup.

Even in a down year, City have a chance to finish or tie for 2nd.

Newcastle has been my dark horse for second for a couple of months.

Spectacular dive to get a penalty by Newcastle.

Nice. Waived off by VAR and a yellow for diving.

Well, well. The prodigal son returns.

My new job makes harassing the board a bit more difficult.

Also, thought about posting in the Chelsea thread, but it is full of RichUT doing his best impression of Debbie Downer.

He's your Gerrard slip?

Arteta: “It’s not fair that Liverpool won the league with 82 points, because we finished second with 84 and 89 points the past two seasons.”

Scousers who remember 2018-19 and 2021-22: “You don’t want to play this game, Lego man.”

He's really going to enjoy the Guard of Honor on Sunday.

y’all are acting like this is matt leinart saying, “the best team didn’t win.” that’s not what he said. what’s he said was, “i don’t think there’s been a better team in this tournament, but their goalkeeper stymied us.” as an arsenal fan, no, i am not tired of arteta saying positive stuff like this after tough losses. he’s also not wrong that donnarumma was the difference. the xG today was something like 3.5 - 1.8 in favor of arsenal, but alas donnarumma is a freak of nature and he kept those shots out. there’s nothing confusing or particularly controversial about what he said or why he said it. he’s supporting his team, and taking the focus off of them at the same time. it’s really not a big deal.

I'm just impressed at how well Kai, Sterling and Jorginho have played for you guys.

kai has been awesome, jorginho has been a great backup, and raheem sterling…well, he’s our worst signing since willian. just unplayable. impossibly useless out there.

I still have nightmares about sylvestre

Agree on Jorginho, I would love to have a version of him on every team.   Kai is a bit of a mixed bag for me, some of that has to do with his price tag/wages.   He was brought in to be an 8, he was not good at it.  They moved him to 9 out of necessity, and he was good and sometimes really good there.    I don't think he is a good enough starting 9 to win the league, unless there are massive upgrades at LW.

At 30-40 million, this is fine; at 70, not so much.

that’s true, however our team results have been *much* better with kai starting at striker this yea as opposed to when he doesn’t play. his iq and versatility help those around him have an easier time.
