How is Barion Brown of Kentucky not on that list?

They will have a legit defense. It is amazing how they always seem to have 4-5 NFL guys

Weigman will be injured by then.

Mofo may not even be starting then, even if not injured. That offense and their Oline is not suited for him.

Barion Brown is their lightning fast WR.

He averaged 3 catches and 41 yards per game last year. KU’s QBs have sucked, but while Brown’s explosive, he’s very far from being a first round WR.

overall comment.. Their WRs are sneaky good (Key is threat also). The secondary is expected to be very good. You have an NFL player at every level on the defense. Their biggest issue is the revolving door at OC.

UK or KU, Wildcats or Jayhawks...they're both blue basketball schools so you can't fault him for getting confused.

@Rimbo has a unique talent in terms of being able to actually make people cringe when they run into his posts. I don't think he can control this power and it has gotten him in trouble over the years, but it's some sort of forum superpower nonetheless. It's kind of uncanny.

Meh, Leinart seems all right. Everyone got pissy because he said “I still think we’re the better team” after the RB, but it was right after the game, emotional, etc. That’s not really anything. He has come off as affable ever since, he makes fun of himself, doesn’t seem to take himself too seriously, he seems to get the greatness of that game and VY.

Tuesday practice notes from Alex Dunlap

Spoiler

Here's a quick few notes that I thought I'd pass along coming out of Texas practice on Tuesday:

- As you may know, Texas is now into its game week schedule. They will have a mock game on Saturday in the stadium at 2:30pm and everything the team is doing right now is on the same schedule it will be in the season, except for they don't start school until the real game week starting next Monday. Sark said they would be doing some new install and situational work this week in preparation for that type of "mock game" on Saturday.

- Well, here are two things I was told were happening on the defensive side of the football: they have now installed two new packages -- they are called dime and dollar.

- Dime package is fairly common in football parlance, but has not been at Texas under Pete Kwiatkowski ... although I was told that Johnny Nansen ran it last year at Arizona on that very good defense with some frequency. It will be new this year for the Longhorns. At Texas, it will feature four down linemen, one LB (I'm assuming Anthony Hill), a nickel corner, two outside corners and THREE safeties. I was not told who the safeties were, but I think it is safe to assume they are Derek Williams, Michael Taaffe and Andrew Mukuba. This is a passing and longer down-and-distance type of grouping, as is dollar. The easy way to remember it is like this: the dime package Texas will deploy is a 4-1-6 defense (4 on the line with the two edge guys presumably Moore and Simmons), 1 LB (presumably Hill) and 6 DBs (presumably Taaffe, Mukuba, Williams, Guilbeau, Barron and Muhammad).

- Dollar package is different than Dime (which is 4-1-6) in just one way. It is three down linemen as opposed to four, two LBs as opposed to just one, and the same 6 DBs on the back end. So, a 3-2-6 defense with the same personnel as above in dime, except Morice Blackwell substituted at the second LB for one of the two interior DL. We've seen a lot of shuffling of safeties between the first two groups, so there are four guys who have taken a lot of reps (the guys mentioned plus Jelani McDonald) who should be able to fill these roles rather easily. Regardless, it's another piece of evidence that Nansen is definitely bringing some new things in his co-DC role to the table on top of his primary position-group responsibilities in coaching the linebackers.

The funnier part of that was when he said "it was a great win, or a tough loss or whatever " ...and then the funniest part was when Holly said "win or lose, great career Vince"
