Difference between running down the field at top speed and being a willing battering ram, and running 5 yards and getting popped by a 225lb LB. And Henry Melton hit the fuck out of people once he moved to DT. F= M*A Wisner has the "A", but lacks the "M". He'd get killed if they asked him to play like RoJo.
August 7, 20241 yr I just want to know if they can pass pro. I'm not worried about their ability to run.
August 7, 20241 yr 22 minutes ago, DixonHur said: I think Clark will be the real winner in this situation. Blue will move to RB1, Wisner will play the Keilan Robinson role, Gibson will be short yardage, and Christian will be Jaydon's primary back-up... bank it. Clark is the overlooked beast.

August 7, 20241 yr 1 hour ago, Harrison Stafford said: This guy right here is the answer to our short yardage issues. yep, Trent Richardson starter kit. Also, i see a lot of Brooks running style in Wisner, from the limited reps on tape at least.

August 7, 20241 yr 32 minutes ago, DixonHur said: Agree to disagree. Size dictates type. Yes, Keilan had a special gear that not many have, but Wisner is plenty fast and can change direction on a dime. That's not even remotely RoJo's game. I suspect Wisner will be used a lot more like Keilan, but I guess we're all about to find out. Damn We did not even get to fuck around

August 7, 20241 yr Good idea to look for turf monsters. We can't risk having any of them take him to the turf.
August 7, 20241 yr Popular Post Paul Wadlington: With Baxter's Loss, What Does Texas Do At RB? Spoiler Cedric Baxter’s season is over. With his loss, the Horns are now without a runner who profiled to be the heaviest used option in a two-headed running back time share with the explosive Jaydon Blue. Time to rethink all of that. Blue will certainly be asked to carry more of the load, but the coaches should be leery about exceeding his pitch count in a season that could approach NFL lengths. Tre Wisner moves up from a player that the coaches were hoping to get involved in bit roles to a clear secondary or 1B role where he will see significant snap shares in every game. Everyone loves Wisner for good reason, but 2-3 touches a game is a different expectation level from a potential 12-15. Similarly, true freshman Christian Clark and Jerrick Gibson need to ready themselves for action. Both were probably headed for redshirts. Now it’s less likely that either will. I see two main areas of concern: work load and pass protection. Absent Baxter, the Horns are without their biggest RB and their best pass protector in the backfield. The latter part is potentially critical given Longhorn matchups against blitz happy teams like Michigan, OU and A&M on the schedule. If the current RB crew isn’t up for it, blitz pick up on linebackers or nickels in play action could be obviated by leaving behind a TE to protect (either on the line or in the backfield) or going double tight with one serving as a personal protector H-Back in the backfield, but the latter solution takes a wide receiver off of the field and you have no credible run threat. Blue and Wisner both share similar physical make ups – both are around 6 feet, 200 pounds – and they have shown that they will run tough in short yardage when needed. The bigger issue with having a starter down is pitch count. Baxter could absorb 15-25 touches per game that will now need to be distributed across the backfield. Blue can’t take up all of that slack. Texas will probably need at least one of the freshman to step up to eat some usage mileage in a potential 15+ game season. As for other trade-offs, Baxter is a plus receiver, but Wisner and Blue are elite. That aspect will improve, not suffer. As for short yardage, Baxter was theoretically better but reality didn’t bear that out last year. In fact, Blue’s nifty feet and level change may offer the better option at sniffing out a hard yard. Jerrick Gibson might also deserve an audition. Will Texas run less overall? Perhaps marginally. But even Sark’s most explosive offenses had a reliable run component and Sark uses the running game to punish light boxes and dictate coverages. That’s not going away. It’s Next Man Up in the Texas backfield.

If we are better off via the recruiting adds, then cool. Shit luck for Baxter. He needs to go have a conversation with Brooks about how to be a teammate while rehabbing. I wasn’t pinning the pining on you, just adding that to the commentary since there are those who do exactly that. I kind of just stared at the screen for a minute. Only time I’ve lost a guy like that.

August 7, 20241 yr Gbenda can jump in there a few snaps maybe. Also it doesn’t bother me at all running 5 wides or 01 personnel either, Quinn is plenty comfortable spreading them out. Then there’s all the orbit and jet stuff, now it just means our 6 star wide outs will get even more touches. Also Blue is a stud. Sucks but it is what it is, I have zero worries on offense with Sark dawg. I just want a secondary and pass rush that can take over games now.
