August 2, 20241 yr The 10K has been over to about 5 minutes and I don't think NBC hasn't put the times up. Very impressed with Nico staying with the lead group, last 6 laps he looked like he was straining.
August 2, 20241 yr Grant will be kicking himself for getting trapped a bit on the final backstretch, but that's still a wonderful result for him. Super smart race on his part. Sucks he missed out on silver by a mere two-hundredths after more than 6.2 miles of running!

August 3, 20241 yr That men’s 10k was fire. What Sifan Hassan is doing is insane. Really wish Mu was in it. My most anticipated races: 1. Jakob Ingebrigtsen v. Josh Kerr (1500M) 2. Sha’Carri v. The Jamaicans (100M) 3. Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone v. Femke Bol (400M hurdles) 4. USA v. Netherlands (women’s 4 x 400M relay) 5. Women’s 1500M (Kipyegon v. Hassan v. Muir)

He's brash, obnoxious and--when he takes attention from his teammates during interviews--occasionally rude. He's also fast as fuck and generally backs up his talk with spectacular performances. Dunno if he's got the start/turnover to get below 9.7 in the 100m, but I wouldn't be shocked for him to finally break 19.3 in the 200m and supplant Yohan as the all-time second-fastest in the event. Don't sleep on Bednarek, either. Kung-Fu Kenny is laser focused and, quite likely, tired of Noah's shit. LoL Kenny has a great story, btw. Spoiler

August 3, 20241 yr I watched the replay of the mixed 4 x 400 heat and saw how close the US was to getting a DQ because one of the women initially lined up incorrectly, but got back onside at the last second thanks to an official helping her out. In the end, they turned in a world record. Team USA track relays and disqualifications name a more iconic duo

How in the world did she not know where to line up? One job there. Not her first relay. She was wandering all over the place
August 3, 20241 yr Neugebauer two events away from gold in decathlon some of his stiffest competition keep falling away/ dropping out. Warner-Canada (defending Olympic gold), who had been in 2nd, no marks in the pole vault (3rd to last event) after passing on four previous heights (oopsies). Skotheim-Norway who had been in 3rd withdrew with a hamstring before the pole vault. Mayer-France, silvers in the last two Olympics and world record holder in decathlon, withdrew Thursday before things got underway with a hamstring. Edited August 3, 20241 yr by UTexasFight
August 3, 20241 yr Yeah, it's Leo's to lose at this point. He should do well in javelin but being such a big, strong dude, he's going to lose some ground in the 1,500m.
August 3, 20241 yr Author And here we go…last chance men’s 1500M to make it through….the crowd is great btw. Packed fucking house. So unlike Tokyo. Edited August 3, 20241 yr by Nicole44
August 3, 20241 yr Author Holy shit Ireland dude came out of nowhere kinda to win that prelim. France second. Set up nicely for the final. Edited August 3, 20241 yr by Nicole44
August 3, 20241 yr Almost Crouser time. Hope the big man has at least one more great throw in him. Kovacs and Otterdahl also very legit. Fabbri out to play spoiler. He's in the form of his life.
August 3, 20241 yr Author LFG Crouser!!!! (Edit bc autocorrect hates me) Edited August 3, 20241 yr by Nicole44
August 3, 20241 yr These shot putters walking out amongst all these fittest people in the world is pretty funny
August 3, 20241 yr To improve the aesthetics of the sport, all shot putters wearing tank tops are now required to shave their backs.
August 3, 20241 yr Author Holy shit! ryan crouser Looks great considering all he’s been thru the past two years. LFG! Edited August 3, 20241 yr by Nicole44
August 3, 20241 yr Super stacked 100m women's semifinal coming up. Texas-Ex Julien Alfred from St. Lucia, Sha'Carri Richardson from the Dallas area by way of LSU (and current reigning World Champ), and reigning Olympic champ Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce. Other semi (Asher-Smith, Swoboda, Jefferson, Kambundji, Ta Lou-Smith) are also top-notch pros. EDIT: wrong semi! USA's Jefferson wins the first semi. Edited August 3, 20241 yr by Braff Zacklin
August 3, 20241 yr If the thick Hungarian* girl in lane 9 that got smoked needs any emotional consoling I'm here for her. Edited August 3, 20241 yr by ztejas
August 3, 20241 yr Oh, damn. Jamaica's "Mommy Rocket," Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, has withdrawn and won't compete in Richardson's semi. With Shericka Jackson also out, that means this is Sha'Carri's gold to lose. I think the only one who can challenge her is Alfred.

August 3, 20241 yr Sha'Carri's only weakness is her start. She'll need to do better in the final. Might be my Burnt Orange glasses, but it seems Julien Alfred has the face of a fashion model.
August 3, 20241 yr Author Richardson got off bad and Alfred a better race to get into final. I love NBC talking about how in that short of time Richardson changed her strategy. Would have loved to see mommy Rocket in there.
August 3, 20241 yr Missed the shot on the multiview that had Alfred, Crouser, and Neugebauer on 3 different screens at the same time
August 3, 20241 yr Yeah, watching these women’s 100M heats, I need to spend more time in Eastern Europe
