I just got the season ticket renewal for basketball and this was included

New for the 2024-25 season, a limited amount of Lower Reserved season tickets will be available in Section 119,120, and 121 to align with SEC seating requirements. These seats are $500 per season ticket with a $2000 seat gift.

Those were previously student sections, did they get moved from the sideline to only behind the basket?

I'm not sure what to make of that either.  It seems that you can just pay $2500 to have seats in the middle of the students and if nobody takes that deal, those will be the visitor seats?

Maybe there is some stipulation that you have to give lower section sideline tickets to the visitors, but how that ends up making more season ticket inventory is puzzling.

No. It’s about not allowing students behind the visitor’s bench

So do they just take away that chunk of student seating, or do they reallocate those lost places elsewhere (not that it matters since student section is never full except for huge games)?

Ugh, that makes sense but sucks from atmosphere perspective.

Idk where else they would move them.

they aren’t going to usurp existing season ticket holders higher up in those sections, or next to the court on the other side. Up in the rafters for SRO you go.

I’m sure the athletics dept will be glad to pocket the extra revenue and tell the students, “sorry. cost of doing SEC.”

Yep - looking on the online seat selection site you can see they split half of lower 119, all of lower 120 and lower 121 and made it available for season tickets.

Weird they did not adjust the online seating map with this price level of tickets. Which honestly seems priced weird at $2000 seat gift compared to dell or indeed club tickets for only 200 more. Germania has club access so I get why that’s different.
