September 21, 20241 yr This movie is NIGHTMARE FUEL. ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE FUEL. I just finished seeing it and my God that is a well done movie, but again be prepared for some crazy dreams because of that film. I could not stop watching even when I knew it was going to be stuff that made me squirm. Some of it was funny, but Hoo boy that was quite the two hours. Just a wild movie dealing with how beauty is perceived in our culture. I would call it a must watch film.
September 21, 20241 yr Stuckmann said do NOT order food if you are in a theater with that option. And not much gets to him.

When you see some of that stuff it’ll make your stomach turn. That movie goes right off the rails, but it all fit together so perfectly.

Just a wild movie. 54 minutes ago, bschoolprof said: I want to watch this but probably will not watch this. Go and watch it. Again nightmare fuel, but too good of a movie to not see.
September 23, 20241 yr This movie was absolutely fantastic. People left during the final scene which made it even better for me. Mini Andie MacDowell is smoking fucking hot.

But yes, Margaret Qualley is ridiculously hot.

I had no idea what it was about. Saw no trailers, nada. All I knew about it was Andie Mcdowell’s daughter was in it, and well… that was good enough for me.
September 23, 20241 yr I'm seeing great things about this one. Same chick that did Revenge, I really enjoyed that one. I'll watch for sure.

Not every movie is for everyone and there’s plenty I make no connection with. I think it is just how shocking the movie might be why I enjoyed it so much. I would appreciate more outside the box thinking from writers and directors like this across all genres.
September 24, 20241 yr i want to see it but i feel like i'd have to trick my mate into going and then he'd flip out and i'd never hear the end of it 🤣 guess i'll wait for streaming.

Just go and see it on the big screen. Even if you go by yourself it’s worth it to do it for this one.

That'll probably be the case with this one - can't imagine my husband will be up for it. What level of gross are we talking here? Infinity Pool? The Fly? Terrorizer 2?

September 24, 20241 yr Well I wanted to see this for the chicks but after reading this thread I'm almost certainly out.

There is lots of naked Demi Moore and naked Margaret Qualley, although I don't know how much of each is real and how much is prosthetics/CGI. You could always bail after the first half of the flick. I wish I had.

September 30, 20241 yr This was fuuuuucked up but I would still recommend it. And I echo what others have said about not eating while watching. If you've ever thought “I wish there was a movie that combined the Let’s Get Physical music video with Perfect and then overlaid everything with a heavy dose of The Fly”, this is your lucky day. Spoiler The Dennis Quaid eating scene at the beginning was possibly the grossest thing in a movie full of gross things.
October 2, 20241 yr Holy fucking shit what a theater experience lol. One guy left really early. The reaction of others around me walking out were all mine too... intense, bonkers, glad I saw it. Hope it sounds cool at home with a good speaker set up. Theater sound was poppin. What a cool role for Demi to do, her and Qualley were both great.

October 10, 20241 yr Someone I work with went to watch it and enjoyed it. He went to a restaurant to eat afterwards with a friend and neither of them had any appetite after seeing it. The Dennis Quaid restaurant scene really sticks with you.
November 18, 20241 yr Saw this the other night. Didn’t know anything about it beforehand which is rare for me these days. It was described as a horror movie which isn’t my favorite genre, but it felt more like a Black Mirror episode which I do love. If anyone is avoiding it because of the horror label, perhaps consider watching it.Thought it was really well done and that final 20 minutes was intense.

I loved the idea, but could have done without the whole nod to the Thing in the last act. Hats off to the writer/director though. She did a great job. If you love gore horror and social commentary, this one is for you.

October 25Oct 25 That was really fun until the end when it simply got too ridiculous. Both Moore and Qualley were outstanding. I was well aware of Qualley from the Leftovers, but gottdamn, I was not familiar with her game. I know the rack was prosthetic, but her posterior deserves its own achievement award.
October 25Oct 25 One of those movies I’m telling people is excellent and a must watch so someone else has to sit through that bullshit.
October 25Oct 25 First half was brilliant. The last 20 minutes? WTF? I ended up fast forwarding through some of it at the end.
