Remaining schedule gonna be a lot tougher than many folks expected... 🤘 Oklahoma - shouldn’t be that good, but sigh Sooner Magic Georgia - still dangerous as expected Vanderbilt - Much better than expected Florida - Looks bad but improving Arkansas - Much better than expected Kentucky - Much better than expected A&M - Much better than expected A lot of folks believe some of these teams aren’t a lot better, but instead are beating teams that aren’t as good as advertised. There’s maybe some of that. Missouri isn’t a top ten team, and maybe Tennessee isn’t either. But I have a feeling Texas is in for a rough road. They have the talent to win them all; do they have the focus?
October 6, 20241 yr Even with talent and focus, shit happens. I’d suspect the odds are Texas is less than 50/50 to finish the regular season undefeated. Doesn’t mean this isn’t the best team. It certainly appears to be, at this point.
October 6, 20241 yr Is that 11 am start time for the Arkansas game locked in? Huge help to us if it is.

October 9, 20241 yr Author Bobby Burton I’m told the first two days of practice this week have been crisp. The Longhorns have executed well, been focused and appear ready to go. ** I’m told Quinn Ewers has shown no signs of any lingering injury issues although trainers and coaches are monitoring him closely.
October 9, 20241 yr Week 6 TV ratings are out and Tennessee/Arkansas won the top spot at 5.29 million viewers. Last week in week 6 there were three games with over 5 million viewers. Looks like the college football TV audience is shrinking faster than expected
October 9, 20241 yr Author CJ Vogel It is a huge week for Texas and more importantly Steve Sarkisian. Coming into the Red River Shootout as the No. 1 team in the land has been a rarity for the Texas Longhorns in the series history — though they will be adding a tally to that count on Saturday. Echoing what Bobby Burton said earlier today, Quinn Ewers has been healthy and practicing well for the last week and a half. Again, I am told if Miss State was Georgia or Oklahoma or Texas A&M, you would have seen Ewers on the field two weeks ago. It has been a strong week for Jaydon Blue as well. He has been focused and you can bet your bottom dollar the emphasis on ball control has been sky high for not just him but the entire offense. Texas has echoed the route to victory for Oklahoma from 2023 all season — ball security, red zone success and defensive efficiency. I was told last night, “If we play a clean game, they won’t keep up.” Thats the emphasis from the staff. Offense: take care of the rock. Defense: communicate and play soundly

No one saw 5 huge upsets coming. This week, just off the top of my head, RRS and Ohio State-Oregon will destroy that 5.29M number.

October 11, 20241 yr After tonight's slate, I'd recommend changing the thread title to "2024 Season Thread and all the shit games in between"

I think Gunner Helm, Bond, Golden, Blue, Wisner will hace a great game on offense. Simmons, Burke, Moore, Hill, Gbemda, Muhammed, and Derrick Willams will feast.
October 13, 20241 yr ULM looking like a pretty good win. Currently 5-1 and the most they've given up in those five games is 21 points.
