Former Texas Assistant Joins ACC Program as Defensive Coordinator

Coach Jake Dickert and the Wake Forest leadership have reportedly finalized the hiring of Scottie Hazelton to take the helm of the defense next season, according to Matt Zenitz of 247Sports.

Hazelton, 51, spent the 2024 season as special assistant to Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian. The SEC runner-up Longhorns secured a No. 5 seed in the College Football Playoff and are preparing to face No. 4 Arizona State in the Peach Bowl quarterfinal on New Year's Day.

Everything I've read says Bond is good to go on Wednesday.

Texas-Ohio State Cotton Bowl ticket prices soar, nosebleeds top Peach Bowl front row

Currently, the entry fee on SeatGeek is $354, which will secure you a spot in section 436, the highest tier at AT&T Stadium. In fact, the most expensive seat at the Peach Bowl, located in the front rows along the 50-yard line, cost almost the same as the nosebleed seats at the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic. For comparison, those seats at AT&T Stadium would be in the C135 section, which is the Hall of Fame Club or the Owner’s Club at Jerry’s World. Those will run you around $1,800 on SeatGeek.

After rewatching the game, Taffe was god awful in the 4th quarter against ASU.  I know he was probably gassed but he has been great most of the season.  We need him to be great on Friday.

Last week, tickets for the Cotton Bowl between Texas and Ohio State were soaring. The sky-rocketing prices had seen nose-bleed tickets for the CFP Semifinal in Arlington eclipse 50-yard line seats for the Peach Bowl.

The cheapest tickets on SeatGeek were $354 in section 436, the highest tier at AT&T Stadium. Most upper deck tickets were north of $500. 50-yard line seats at the Cotton Bowl were running around $1,800.

But as the temperature has dropped in North Texas, so have the ticket prices. Many Ohio State fans have cancelled their trips and have flooded the secondary ticket market. A lot of Longhorns fans have decided to cancel their trips to Dallas too.

Tickets that cost $500+ last week are down to $175 dollars now ahead of the storm on SeatGeek. The highest price seat is under $1,200.

The Dallas area is bracing for a snow storm Thursday what will make travel tricky to impossible based on where fans are coming from. The current forecast predicts one of the Top 5 snow fall event in DFW history. With so many travel cancelations, the Longhorns may have a bigger home crowd advantage than first anticipated.
