One of the few that does do something is the Chevron Techron one.

It’s basically just a more concentrated version of the additive that’s in their fuel.

I add use one every so often.

I bought a 1985 Ford Ranger new   The owner's manual recommended Chevron Techron treatment.

I ain't done shit to my Geo Tracker for 260,000 miles except run the tank down to almost empty, then fill it up again.

Runs good. I think it's had the same fuel filter since 2003.

How do y'all feel about marine gas?

What’s marine gas? Two stroke? Or just ethanol free from a marina?

That's what they call ethanol-free around here, I guess sold at marinas, but also at the occasional mom-n-pop gas station where people use it for lawn equipment and suchlike. Supposed to be better for engines that might sit a while without being cranked.

It’s a lot better for small engines or something that isn’t going to be ran enough to use it all.

What I was wondering is would it have any cleaning properties to run an occasional tank of it through a car, just for the heck of it.

Through a newer vehicle? You won’t get anything. Most cars are going to be driven enough to keep the gas from separating or whatever it is that happens to continue giving Iowa a subsidy.

A 1995. The Tracker with the Eternal Fuel Filter mentioned above. Probably go through two tanks of gas per month.

I’ve got a 97 z71 and I like to run ethanol free through it every so often. I don’t think it helps, but it makes me feel better in my mind. You might put some stabil in the tank if it’s bothering you.

I figure it'll run forever UNTIL I do something to "help" it.

About once a year I might hit it with ethanol-free, usually because I need to fill up at some one-pump country place and that's what they've got.

A lot of Murphy’s gas stations sell ethanol free gas.

Lucas fuel system cleaner, Chevron Techron and Berryman's are 3 that I've had good luck using. One thing about Techron, do not overconcentrate or it can cause problems. If it says add to 25 gallons, don't add it to 15 and think you're good to go. It's powerful stuff.
