The average clavicle fracture will heal without surgery over the course of 2+ months. Some are bad enough they won't heal without surgery. With surgery in a young athlete, I would expect good healing within about 6 weeks.

Doesn't look bad to me. My son broke his in 9th grade not requiring surgery and he wasn't feeling like raising his hand that high at the time

He 100% was. That was an obvious fair ball.

Missed first few innings fighting with some goofy ESPN/YTTV problem.

But holy shit, kid looks good.

Naw, make that FUCKING GOOD.

Dude is a stud. Would like to see him in an Astros Uniform and Texans. He can do anything he wants. So glad we have him!!!!

As you no doubt discovered, it was on SEC+, so only on the ESPN app (which you can access with YTTV, its just not on the main channel list).

For realz. It wasn't even close to foul.

Yeah... SECN+, and yes it showed up on ESPN app, just wouldn't connect to Auburn game. Desktop and Firestick same thing. Finally found it worked on my music studio laptop no problem. No idea, still looking. Damn good thing the big screen in my library has three HDMI ports and the sound system runs off the screen... plug in that laptop and good to go.

I’ve been able to watch every game on standard YouTube, not YTTV. Just search Auburn Texas Live.

Doesn't that mean someone has to stream it?

Yes. Most of the college baseball games have been streamed this year. It's usually 2 or 3 sources originating from Vietnam. Many of the international soccer games are streamed from Vietnam so it makes sense that they just seem to be streaming everything.

This team is full of dawgs. Aggie is about to FAFO. We're aren't a fluke, this team is for real. Just wait until we get Belyeu back, Mendoza fully healthy, and A-Rod fully healthy.

If the kid is as good at football as he is at baseball he could potentially play both at the next level.  Because he is fast and hits the shit out of the ball.

Just able to get on what’s he been doing today?

Any updates on Belyeu? I’d imagine Jonah is the guy in LF until he can come back.

Injury is healing really well. Might be back this season.

I've had pretty good luck getting to SECN+ by starting at texassports.com and just clicking the "video" button for both the softball and baseball teams, whether I'm on my desktop or on the NVIDIA Shield Pro connected to the living room. Before I got into that habit, I had regular issues just finding the games in ESPN or YTTV listings, despite YTTV and Disney+ subscriptions, and then getting them to recognize that I was already paying them.

He'll be done with baseball by June 23rd. Plenty of time for summer camp to start.

Given that Texas is loaded at safety, I’m going to be really surprised if Williams is in store for much PT this fall outside of special teams. I guess if Filsaime just doesn’t come along and they have a rash of injuries, things could change.

Seems like he should be just fine playing baseball through the CWS finals.

So…we’re sure football is his best sport? Please say yes

I feel this…. although… its very early on…. this could be a historic athlete on the 40.

If you are pro level at both and are not a QB…

I would suggest focusing on the sport with the leather glove and wooden bat (at the pro level).

It will be fun to watch him on the football field if he chooses football, but…

I disagree Baseball is at a fork in the road, they got out of their ESPN agreement and who knows what their future is, they make around 2 billion a year now while the NBA makes 7 and NFL makes 11.

It is entirely possible that the Ohtani contract was the absolute last of its kind and teams will start to roll back average player contracts.

His post-athletic career quality of life will be exponentially better if he chooses baseball when he turns professional.  And he'll likely have a longer life if he chooses baseball.  There are studies on this.

Soto just got a similar deal like 2 months ago

Vlad didn't do too badly, either.

And Tucker is going to get a big one also this off-season most likely.  For quality of life post sports, baseball players are much better off.

I mean for quality of life almost any job out there is better than getting hit daily, so the money vs quality of life is the question, Gini coefficient and all that. Can Jonah secure the bag in baseball? or Football? that is probably the real question in his head.

Early in life money definitely favors football, longterm earnings and it swings back heavy to baseball assuming a player is roughly as good at each sport.  You have to be good for a few years in MLB before the money starts to roll in, but when it does it could be a whole lot.  Football you can get a decent amount just by being a high draft pick.

Another big factor is his family has been through the MLB process with his older brother being a 2nd rounder out of high school and having a cup of coffee in the show. His family will understand better than anybody the grind of the major leagues and trying to make it past those arbitration years if you do make it.

Great to have choices.

Is it possible he still might pitch as well?

I don't know precisely when fall camp begins, but roughly one month to prepare would feel daunting for me.  I'm sure he'll manage, but those first couple days with conditioning tests, etc. are going to be brutal coming off of a rehab and baseball season that doesn't allow for participating in Becton's spring/summer work.  I hope he shines if needed, but this is gonna be tough to do.

I imagine he'll pick whichever one he has more fun doing.
