Syracuse (5-1) at Pitt (6-0) tonight on ESPN

We have not been 6-0 since 1982, when Danny was playing QB and the season after Jackie left for A&M. That was the team that lost, 7-3, to SMU with Dickerson & James, in the Cotton Bowl. Pitt was ranked #1 to open that season before opening with a pretty good UNC team on a weeknight. Pitt won, 7-6, but dropped in the polls, even though UNC was ranked #5. Kind of did not make sense.

The Panthers kept winning until a not fantastic Gerry Faust coached Notre Dame team with Allen Pinkett came in and pulled an ugly upset. Pitt then won its next two games before losing to #5 State Pen, 10-19, up there in Crappy Valley.

The loss in the Cotton Bowl was tough because Pitt was going in to score before Joe McCall fumbled at the goal line. Danny also threw an INT in the end zone, I think in the 4th quarter. It was recovered by SMU. Dickerson ran for 124 yards on 27 carries. Danny completed 19 of 37 passes for just 181 yards.

Hopefully we can win tonight before heading to SMU for the next game, Nov. 2. and a chance to go 8-0, which we have not been since 1981.

Also, hopefully nobody dies at our tailgate tonight like the fellow from Cal did at our last game here in Pittsburgh.

Navy is putting their undefeated record on the line against Notre Dame.

But don't worry everyone, as this game will not impact the inevitable double Army-Navy game as this is an out of conference game.

However to really get what we all want it would sure be cool, and hilarious, if both Army and Navy were 11-0 going into the double Army-Navy game. So hopefully Navy sinks the Irish.

Edit: Oh and Army is taking the week off, getting ready for the Zoomies.

Looking forward to watching the good QB play in Syracuse vs. Pitt.

Which seems like a weird thing to type out

Did not age well, at all.

What I actually meant to say was "I'm looking forward to some baffling interceptions and near-interceptions."

Their advanced metrics are really bad but winning is winning.

First time I’ve watched them this season.  So far, I see why they are 6-0.  Their uniforms are sharp.
