I did too at that time.
Evidently the schools involved don’t trip a switch on people being able to differentiate between the two experiences: enlisted Marine vs Father of a Cadet.
Why would I be loyal to some school that my fucking boss went to? Who fucking cares? Even the Marine Ops are not fucking Marines until they are commissioned. So again, tell me why I should give a fuck about Annapolis beyond what any citizen would feel.

See this, even the Navy guys don't want to go for Navy.  GO ARMY!!

We got WWII vets calling this?

This MoFo heard my plebe ass say Go Navy Sir! Beat Army Sir! Many times.

It haunts me.

Go Navy beat Army!!

12 years and counting in the Navy (plus a tour with the Marines) and still going strong.

You know what would make this game more memorable? That's right.....more ads.

Marshall just pulled out of the bowl game against Army. Too many opt outs and transfers

Damn...Army flat out got outcoached.

This was pretty much the last highlight of the day for USMA:

The Cadets were up at 2:00AM and got back to West Point at 2:00AM so a nice full 24 hr day when your team gets stomped.  I'm sure that was fun.  Actually, my kid said it was a great time despite the team deciding to not show up for the game.  Go get 'em next year, I guess.

I just realized this, before yesterday I had never seen my Navy man hero Roger Staubach blessing the game balls by warming up throwing the balls before the game and somehow Navy pulls off the big upset.

Does Roger do this every year or what?  He is between my mom's age, 83 and my dad's age, 88.  Can't believe he can still throw the ball.

But it kind of makes sense.  He was on the Ticket probably 10 years ago, they asked him how he stays in such great shape.  He told them it was one simple rule.  'I break a sweat every day" he told them.

Dad is 82 and was a Senior at UT when they played Navy in the 63 season (Jan 1, ‘64) Cotton Bowl, so that’s (roughly) his age!

As a Staubach fan, but Army veteran, still love him. I have a replica 12 jersey with his name on it, as he was Captain America when I was a child.

I’m so old that I had a “GI Joe” sized figure of both Roger and OJ. Man - I wish I still had those.

Hook’em!!!
