Canceled my Discover card yesterday after many years  because I  received two emails clearly stating "Your card will be receiving a prepaid charge beginning September 5", which also contained the last four numbers of the card and my bank checking account.  The app I use for eliminating online ads pegged it as a scam.  Checked the website, it showed no such permission.  Two separate departments told me the email was legit, there was was no problem with this arrangement and that was the moment I told them to shove their card up the ass.  Email confirms the card closed this morning.  One more hassle for no fkn reason.

confirmed card closed

I dropped Discover many years ago.  Got hacked like twice in 2 months.

@AnTiM And who sent you an email regarding the charge? The company charging you or Discover? And what departments did you speak with?

The only charge that confuses me every year is the one from Surly. At certain points the charge had a name that wasn't Surly and I would immediately flag it as an unauthorized charge.

what is a prepaid charge?

That was my question that Discover people would not answer, hence my telling them to shove it.
