I'd rather stay behind Georgia until they come to Austin.  Same way I felt about being behind SC in 05.  I'd rather have something to prove than something to defend.

You say a lot of stupid shit and you do it at a rapid, voluminous rate. You’re like a shit howitzer, just fucking blasting the board with constant bullshit.

So he has the number one team barely beating an unranked team and not losing the number one spot?  Ok Brett. Something has to give there.

This. We get our chances to take care of the polls ourselves. Who cares what the writers vote right now.

a defending national champion should be #1 until they lose no matter who they play or how they win

Normally I would agree, but I don't think that matters with this team.

He is always down on Texas.

The media freak out the week or two where the composite had us at #1 was fun to watch though wasn’t it?

Voters, especially AP voters, do not like to change votes until there are losses or big time victories to move teams up or down.   It’s weird how they start with the idea that their preseason order is correct, instead of using the first few weeks at least to refine it.

1. No

2. They did

24th in the coaches poll 😂😂😂

SEC road win = 3 wins

We're up to #2 in the coaches poll.

UGA lost 8 first place votes and gained points. Seems odd.

Don't worry -- Bowling Green will fix that.

It just means more

Looks like a missing vote, which is probably the only thing that would make sense.

So after Alabama works UGA in 2 weeks, will they jump to #1?

How is Kentucky not even getting others receiving votes?  This makes no god damn sense. You cannot have the number one team almost lose to an unranked team and either not drop them or move the other team up. The logic doesn’t track.

Who are the three ad-wizards who gave Ohio State first place votes?

This.

id much rather be #2 taking #1 from the team holding it in our house, than having to defend #1.

Because they got destroyed, at home, a week ago against a team that is also not receiving votes.

Can we please retire this bullshit?  Year after year after year.  It's as dumb as "I'd rather be ranked lower and sneak up on people".

Well then the adjustment should be to Georgia for almost losing to said team.
but apparently that game went exactly how a #1 at no votes game is expected to go, so no adjustment needed.

Kentucky showed any sane person more than agricultural....but oh well.

Kurt Bowels has Texas #2 behind UGA.  No surprise.

https://apnews.com/hub/ap-top-25-college-football-poll?voter=Kirk Bohls&organization=Houston Chronicle

EDIT - It appears that the per-voter tracking updates later than the overall poll.  When I pulled the data, the poll was recent, but Bohls' data was not.

Eh. The playoff changed this. I wanted a clear 1-2 undefeated game when you had a winner take all game like 2005, I wanted no doubts when we won then.

With a playoff it really doesn’t matter, you settle it on the field regardless. Sure it will be cool, if both teams win out, for Georgia-Texas to be 1 v 2. But that’s about all I want. I would rather they lost last night as we took the top spot.

In a strange way, this makes me happy that Quinn is out.

There's no way the team can be complacent knowing we have to start our second string QB.

That's not a knock on Arch, I just think the team has to be more focused knowing strange things can happen when playing an inexperienced QB.
