I'd rather stay behind Georgia until they come to Austin.  Same way I felt about being behind SC in 05.  I'd rather have something to prove than something to defend.

You say a lot of stupid shit and you do it at a rapid, voluminous rate. You’re like a shit howitzer, just fucking blasting the board with constant bullshit.

Anyone know how they come up with the teams on the top of the "tree" vs the bottom?

one own sec media ppl on espn say the same thing so perception turns to reality of course

season 2 GIF

this is largely irrelevant now that it's twelve teams but this is a pretty bad set of initial rankings.  why is missouri ranked?  why is penn state #6?  miami over texas is laughable but they just default to comparing records.

some early talk that Tulane head coach is a rising star that will move up to a Power 4 job soon.

Yup. Coach Sumrall had Troy ranked, winning 10 games, and won back to back Sun Belt titles before he bolted for Tulane. Before Sumrall went to Tulane, the early talk on the Kentucky boards was that Sumrall was going to be their first and only call to replace Stoops when it looked like he was heading to A&M (Sumrall was an assistant under Stoops at UK before he landed the Troy job)

In one comment they give Mizzou credit for beating Vandy then in the next breath say Texas hasn't beaten anyone. Mizzou barely beat Vandy at home (needed OT) and we beat them on the road.

What am I missing with Georgia being behind Ohio State? Their resume blows Ohio State’s out of the water.

Agreed. UGA is a Ryan Williams TD catch from being undefeated and the unanimous #1 team. I'm fine with them being behind Oregon for now.

I also didn't understand the pearl-clutching over Army's ranking. They have played no one and have yet to play a team with a winning record.

Their strength of schedule is #84. Their nonconference slate was FIU, Charlotte and Western Illinois. The best team they have played in their conference so far is 5-4 Washington, who sits in 9th place in the Big 10. They avoid Oregon and Penn State altogether. I'd say it's more about schedule bias. If they take care of business against Michigan and Ohio State, then they should get more love. But they have played an absolute patsy of a schedule so far.

Something to consider as we get closer to the end of the season - the CFP will probably want to avoid rematches if at all possible (at least in the first two rounds).

They will definitely consider that in the seedings/rankings especially if the Big Ten and SEC have so many teams qualify.

Found the following comedian on IG. He mostly focuses on SEC and basically mocking all the teams equally. The CFP one is pretty funny, imo.

I'm on the fence with this comment because I love that dirt burglar is "nobody".

Basically reproduce the season he played at Ohio State. I think that guarantees us a win in the Big XII title game.

Aren't we on a 7 game win streak against them and 9 of the past 11?

Looks like the horns will be back up to #3…. Sorry dawgs, you gotta wanna be there week in and week out not just when you come to Austin.

no matter how you look at it, our SOS took a massive fucking hit today.

Every single P4 school we have played so far this year lost today.  and only Colo St and UTSA won this week.

Just win baby.

and/or keep the #1 defense.

a 2 loss Texas team in the SEC with the #1 D in college football will be tough to keep out of a 12 team playoff.

If BYU loses this game, will Boise State replace them in the 4 spot?

B1G with 4 of the top 6 on Tuesday?

Maybe if that Michigan win by Indiana is enough to jump Tennessee…either way I’d bet the top 8 are all B1G/SEC with Bama getting a big jump (assuming BYU loses).

Then: ND, Miami, BYU, Boise

First Out: Ole Miss and aggy

Yes, but theirs went up today. Why? Because we won which is all that matters at this point of the season. With 12 team playoff and a Longhorn on our helmet, SOS will never be a "negative" concern.

Aggy gonna collectively lose their mind when they see espn projections having them miss the 12 team playoffs.

It’s good for them.

This only maybe matters if we lose to aggy and there are six 10-2 SEC teams. Our worst loss would be aggy so that’s better than ole miss or aggys worst loss, but we wouldn’t have a good win on our resume. No reason to worry about hypotheticals if we just win though.

Late in video, there's a comment that both the B12 and Acc may end up with only 1 invite to CFP playoffs -- their fans will go crazy if it happens 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

South Carolina beating Clemson would be awesome...

We dropped to #2 in ESPN FPI behind Bama (albeit it's extremely tight) but still sport the #1 D in their metric. They are giving us the highest % chance to win the NC.

Sagarin has us #2 - with tOSU, Texas and Bama all jumbled very tightly together.

These are the two most predictive metrics - with SP+ maybe (likely) being up there as well.

I'd say the likeliest outcome is that each of them get 1 team in, especially the Big 12.

Notre dame. Boise (or whoever is highest rated conference winner). 1 each of acc and big 12. That leaves 8 to between big 10 and sec.
Ohio state, Penn State, Indiana and Oregon are all definitely in- right?
We probably need to not fuck around and lose to aggy or piggy.

Where'd you see that? I haven't seen an official release - just individual voter ballots.

aggy have already assumed winning out is a foregone conclusion

let's take care of business 1 game at a time

Waiting until the tosu result to move Indiana up is chickenshit. And may well punish them by dropping further than they would if they were at 2 or 3 if they lose.  It doesn’t have to matter as the last cfp ranking is all that really does, but fixing things for the final ranking is a shitty way to go about it also.
