If I remember correctly, I think some poster from TOS Cloak Room said he lives just outside of River Oaks. Not sure if that was accurate and it was years ago so even if it was it then it may not be now.

Maybe he and Abbot can have a meeting in River Oaks to hash this all out.  Under a tree.

While I want him gone and disgraced, I really want him thoroughly investigated for all the dirty dealings he has done from beginning to end.  Every smarmy and underhanded thing, every illegal thing (no matter how small), every bullshit thing he did to enable trump.

I want a litany of charges and findings posted on every door of every country club and cowboy church in our state that keeps electing shills like this because "they look/sound like us."

I want the shame to go so deep that they begin to wonder about Cornyn too.  Whether they ever admit publicly that shame or regret, I don't care.  I just want them to carry their actions on their heads the rest of their lives.

TL;DR: Fuck letting him slink off.  Make a fucking example of him and rub his oily white ass in all their faces.  Fix the damn machine.

I don't like to give him credit for anything, but w/respect to issues based on that little clip, I would not make a negative assumption w/o other info. Simply because, sure he's a pandering attention seeking craven evil pol, but if that is his child and in that pic looks to be having just got off of a bus and Dad wants to give a photo op buss and hug, that reaction is a lot of preteen grimace and 'ugh, would you just stop and leave me alone, I hate this life,' which as a parent I've had my share of even without the situation of being a pandering attention seeking craven evil pol. Teen mood is occasionally like a light switch and you don't always know when it's been flipped on.

But Ted Cruz is still a pandering attention seeking craven evil pol.

So I was thinking about this and while not a media guy I think we need a multi-channel strategy.  We can do the YouTube ad that is shared on Twitter and other platforms but we also need the billboards for those that don't use social media often.  If they see the hashtag #TraitorTed they might search it and find the add - otherwise be oblivious to it.  Budget obviously plays a part, we are a smart bunch and I'm just throwing out thoughts that others can put data behind and disprove or validate.  The breakthrough is when the viral campaign hits traditional media like tv news and getting it on conservative radio other places where the zombies are.

So while we are at it how are we going after Paxton?  Might even be an easier target.

The country can start “healing” and “coming together” after Trump is removed and Ted Cruz has either resigned or been expelled from the senate.

He obviously doesn’t care but you know his wife cares about those kids. Imagine at their fancy private school how the other kids will mock them. His kids and also grandkids will hate him. Feel sorry for them and hope for their sake mama calls the game.

Ted needs to resign! Unfortunately voters have very short memories and if he ran for Senate again in 4 years he’d be elected-again. We can be a very stupid people and he knows it.

We need to push it now and not wait.  Set the narrative for the Texas voters and keep it up until he is gone.

I'm in to send $$$.  Fuck Traitor Ted.  That Georgia speech where he used the words fight, patriot, and likened fighting for Donald Trump to battles in the American Revolution is RAGE inducing.

Does anybody have a link to this speech or to a transcript?

Yes, I googled, didn't find it.

I think that there is enough pressure for whoever the senate majority leader is next to have a vote to expel at least 1 senator. That's all it is going to take. Get Hawley up for expulsion vote and he will resign and any others who are on docket for the vote will follow suit.

You cannot recover from this politically and if they are not expelled, the GOP/Democrats should not allow them to caucus with them effective immediately until after they resign or are expelled.

what makes you think he'd resign?

This is about as likely as immamac pimping some Bull Moose Progressive Party to be the next major party.

Unicorn farts and pipe dreams and fanfic about Urban Meyer becoming Texas head coach.  It's basically all the same shit.

is this doable?

If it takes 2/3rds of both chambers, then nope. You'll be asking members to expel themselves.

Good timing. I was just about to mention this. It presents a rather compelling case for expulsion.

Also, I wanted to point out that the descriptor "unctuous" hasn't been used often enough when talking about Ted.

I think it says it takes 2/3rds to allow a traitor to serve.

yeah, but plenty might join the wagon so the eye of sauron doesn't turn on them. Expel Cruz and Hawley and Trump ("I love you, you're special people" sounds like comfort ot me) and maybe it works out just fine.

The last time this was used was after someone was convicted for violating the Espionage Act. From the article in the tweet:

Quote

The clause was originally enacted to limit the influence of former Confederates in the Reconstruction era. It has been used occasionally since. Victor L. Berger, a member of the Socialist Party of America, was repeatedly prevented from taking his seat by a House resolution after winning election in 1919 because he had been convicted under the Espionage Act.

I think it's a difficult thing to pull off considering these guys and gals have yet to be convicted of any crime.

Agree with Cooter.  I think the question remains what standard has to be met to prove being "engaged in insurrection" - i.e., does it need to be proven in court?

#1139

Also, Berger won re-election by an even larger majority after he was kicked out in the subsequent special election. Eventually they allowed him to have his seat. Nothing in the clause keeps those rejected representatives or senators from running again for the same seat it appears.

I googled it, that's his austin office number. They don't answer and they don't have room in their voicemail box, so I love the idea of this chud writing it down like it's some critically important number lol
