A show about a field landman would probably not have much mass appeal. Follow around some 40-something problem drinker as he visits courthouses in scenic locations like Carthage, Big Spring, and

Who’s got young Mexican twins?

Quote

One casting notice is for a baby around 6 months to appear as Ariana’s son. El Paso native Paulina Chávez portrays Ariana, a grieving mother who starts a relationship with Cooper Norris (Jacob Lofland) over the first season.

Ideally, Legacy said they’re looking for twin Latino boys around 6 months for the part, but will also consider girls.

”We don’t have exact dates yet but he could be needed throughout filming on and off for a few weeks,” the casting notice said. “Filming is Fort Worth in the Benbrook area.”

Pay rates for both the baby and stand-in actors are around $200 a day.

Just started binge watching this, so avoiding spoilers.  Good Gawd Ali Larter is going to set my television on fire.

Worth it.

Well, this is an excellent show so far and I'm glad I watched it, although it can be kind of slow in parts.  I was not expecting Manuel and Antonio to be taken down so expeditiously.  Then I expected them to team up with Jimenez from prison and be a problem.  Then I was really not expecting Andy Garcia to take out Jimenez.   What is Ainsley's purpose, other than to be hyper-sexualized super-annoying eye candy?  At least Cooper is trying to do something with himself.   All she did was attend a strip club with senior citizens, and it wasn't even her idea.  Send her off to Tech and make the character recurring, at most.  What is the deal with Billy Bob having annoying TV daughters?   Don Draper was taken out pretty quick as well; guess 2 leading men is 1 too many, or they needed screen minutes for Andy.   It looks like cartel financing is going to be a big part of Tommy and Cami's gamble in season 2.  Hope this show doesn't get Goliath'd going forward.

I believe their ratings were insane for a  non Netflix streaming only show + it’s Taylor Sheridan. They’ll do as many seasons as they want.

did we know sam elliott was gonna be in this?

Man I dunno.  Can Taylor Sheridan write an attractive, bitchy, insufferable female character?

I didn't see the roommates. They better have kept Dale and Nathan or I'm gonna be pissed.

A Supporting Landman Character Is More Important To Season 2 Of Taylor Sheridan's Show Than You Realize

This show is cheezy as fuck but it's a guilty pleasure for me and the wife.

Sam Elliot? Fuck yeah.

Agreed...underrated part of the show.

Also i know people don't like mexican chick, but she's a smoke show and I don't mind seeing her in skimpy outfits along with the daughter.

Billy Bob Thornton lights up Fort Worth ‘Landman’ screening Nov. 6th, Sam Elliott’s on his heels

Stars of Taylor Sheridan’s hit show charm the crowd at the Modern Art Museum, but nobody can steal Thornton’s thunder, not even Sam Elliott’s mustache.

Angela: We're buying a house in Fort Worth!

Nathan: Thank you, Jesus.

guilty pleasure, even if it's bad TV at times.

With one exception, my dad did not cook when I was younger. That exception- every Friday night he would make brownies out of a box- add egg, oil , water. And we would watch “Dallas”. Everyone but my mom, who was disgusted by anything having to do with the show. My dad absolutely loved it though.

That reminds me of one of my uncles. He worked the fields doing ratholes. Tough old bird, but damn that man wouldn’t even miss a rerun of Dallas. Landman makes me think of him as well. Nothing specifically, but that overall attitude and such.

The whole ridiculous caricature of its subject matter is pretty specific.

It is. Granted some things kind of get mixed together for tv, but it isn’t a documentary. It entertaining enough, and an easy watch that’s pretty enjoyable.

I often remind myself that I’m not here for a documentary on oil exploration and production, I am here to see shit go south for Billy Bob for twelve hours, and then his wife calls.
I just give him the Jeremiah Johnson head nod.

Pretty much that, yeah.

I’m sure docs and nurses take issue with hospital shows, but it is what it is: Entertainment.

I love it. My old man was a welder in west Texas. This show also reminds of him.  This show is one of my favorites

Fun show, but this world doesn’t exist. It did maybe 50 years ago.

I guess it’s a Cody Campbell analog, but he basically had to vacuum salesman his acreage door to door around Fort Worth until somebody bought it.

I guess it’s a more interesting show than XOM, Chevron, COP, and OXY white hairs having coffee before a PowerPoint presentation in Davos.

“Well, I’m definitely gonna have to start drinking again.”

Fun first episode, no complaints.

Interview was fucking great.

Yeah, don’t even get me started on how unrealistic the deposition scene last season was. I assume there is similar … dramatic license … taken with the O&G business sections as well.

The thought of having to interview to go to TCU is hilarious. I'm sure my girl nailed it though.

The show is a comedy, not a drama.

But no, Sheridan can't write for women but most men can't.
