Also, I think the Slowik criticism is typically overdone, but today was bad. You run on this Jets team, and the play-action bombs will come. You don't give their pass rush a chance to tee off on you. Also, that trick play in the redzone was fucking trash.

It's predictable, but i also think it helps them spring big plays in the passing game through play-action, and it makes defenses predictable

Everyone bitches about this pattern, but when they change it up, frequently you're looking at a three and out because the OL fucks it up

Pitre showed exactly why so many fans wanted them to sign Justin Simmons in free agency. Need better safeties and you can't expect a rookie like Bullock to fix that position alone.

Really need some O-line help too, but we have known that since the off-season. I don't know who is available, but it sure would be nice to get even an average guard to help improve that position.

This team has a lot of great players in key positions, but a few glaring weaknesses can cause the wheels to fall off on any given Sunday. Trade deadline is Tuesday, so hopefully they make a move or two.

First of all, tough spot in a Thursday night road game against a team that has its back against the wall, on the worst field in the league, with arguably their best player out for another week. The Jets were favored for a reason.

Second.. left guard has to be addressed. Trade for a league average guy for a 4th rounder if that's what it takes

Third.. the 4th down penalty was chickenshit. DBs touching the guy they're covering to know where he's running so he can keep eyes on the QB is taught and allowed at every level. That was a bail out call that changed the game

Fourth.. Garrett Wilson made two absurd catches that changed the game

Annoying loss, but this was a "schedule loss" imo, especially with Nico still out. Luckily, Houston winning last week gives them some buffer for a loss like this

There's no room for reason in this thread. This thread is for illogic and hysteria.

God dammit, since the Cowboys look hopeless for the foreseeable future I was hoping I could pivot to the Texans as my consolation team, but now they look shitty too. Lost to the fucking Jets. This happens every time I try to get interested in the Texans.

Well then please stop getting interested in the Texans. Thanks in advance!

Pretty cool that a fan who is clearly watching the NFL for the first time ever is interested in the Texans.

"Any Given Sunday" is a very common term in the NFL, keep watching and you will eventually understand.

Massive failure by Casero to stick with Kenyon Green at LG heading into this season.

1. Need to trade for an IOL this week.

2. Slowik needs to get CJ out of the pocket more on play designs. The pocket is not safe and CJ is gonna get killed in there eventually.

Total panic play call. WTF.

Not only do they need an average guard, it might help if they also bring in a vet center to push Suggs

Most of stroud’s missed last night where arm throws where he’s leaning back (what Quinn always does)

This is because the interior was getting blown up and he got sacked a couple of times early trying to step up in the pocket

Eventually he also got sacked from edge pressure that should have been outside of the pocket, but he didn’t trust stepping up because of interior pressure from earlier, so they were essentially QB sacks because he was so deep

Shore up the interior, and the OT pass pro will be better

I was an oiler season ticket holder whose 2nd favorite team was the cowboys, same with my dad.

Caserio 100% brings him for a fourth year.

Green is Exhibit A of why getting drafted in the first round is important. Unlimited chances for 4 full years.

just start the back up guard

In 2023 Jarrett Patterson started the first 7 games at center. Gave up 0 sacks in 464 snaps. I want to know why he wasn’t given a chance to start this season. #Htownmade

Houston might get Dallas without Dak

Veteran OT La’el Collins worked out for the #Texans today.

#1938
The #Texans are not expected to make any moves ahead of the NFL trade deadline. Per @jonmalexander

Fuck this shit. Our competition are making trades to improve and we are standing pat with a sieve of an OL.

#1939

It’s worrisome that the Texans designated Odukah and Hughes to return today but no mention of Nico who is also eligible.

It's the fatal flaw of this year's team and alarming it wasn't noticed and addressed back in the summer. It's not like the line has regressed because of injuries.

#1942
One final trade at the deadline: Texans traded DT Khalil Davis to the 49ers in exchange for a 2026 7th-round pick, per sources.

#1944

Boy that's got to be a gut punch to get traded for virtually nothing.

I'm going to remain optimistic about Nico, but if he doesn't play I don't see how we can possibly beat the Lions.

#1945

I'm guessing they view the division as basically won at this point, so they don't want to rush Nico back. Wait until he's 100% with no risk of re-injury

#1946

So they worked out a bunch of potential interior OL, and ended up signing this guy

Him playing for McVay means he should know most of the terminology in the offense and be available to play this season

#Texans make signing of Tremayne Anchrum Jr. official and released Shaun Bradley from practice squad @KPRC2 https://t.co/kNwoObq6ds
