It was a stupid play and it did matter, a lot.

This play got us to the 25 yd line. The 15 yard penalty put the team in the 40.

The very next play was a 27 yard completion which would have put Golden two yards into the end zone, albeit with a shitload of time left. Nobody here can guarantee if the playcall changes.

That’s exactly what the last sentence is about but having 3 posters in this board not catch that detail is very on brand.

Way to double down on the stupid. Play calls are based on down, distance, field position, personnel etc. So if those change the play caller isn't even looking at the same column.

Two month old quote? Youve been thinking about this for a while, and I can appreciate that.

Haha actually was looking for some posts about him where someone said he made a mistake by continuing to work out at the combine after getting hurt and post this from Gunnar but got busy on some work stuff

Gunnar Helm told us why he didn't reveal his ankle injury at the NFL Combine"I didn't want it to look like an excuse of any kind"#HookEm | #Texas

Appreciate it. Sucks because he was great at UT. I guess now he'll be a 3rd day pick up, which is fine because he'll be in the league for 10 years.

He ran routes though.  Only video I found but saw more on the TV coverage.  Looked good

Ewers connects with Texas TE Gunnar Helm on the throw near the middle of the field here. @yardbarker

Except we have scripted plays all over football to start halves as well as two plays out of a timeout as well. Suck my dick. From behind.

6 minutes left in the 4th quarter was the play in question dumbass.  Good for you if you enjoy dudes sucking your dick but I don't play that way. You don't know shit about ball if you think a play called from the 40 vs from the 25 would have the same  result you're too stupid to argue with.

Nice. So he talked to teams beforehand and they told him not to run another 40 if he didn't feel 100%. Makes complete sense and also suggests that he doesn't need to run a great 40 time.

The same exact distance is gained. You’re too fucking high on your poppers to think only your reality plays out.

Well damn Sark should just call 'the touchdown play' every time. LO fucking L.

If you don’t think successive pass plays are having routes run to setup a different look or have the safety guess, that’s on you. Touchdown play isn’t designed for every pass play but they will set one up.

Go back to your 3a High school reunion and tell your buddies who know ball about that. And tell them about my massive dick too.

You were clearly wearing a funny hat and playing the skin flute in school to learn any football...you literally said a play will have the same result no matter the field position. Makes no fucking sense, just stop.

I clearly said Gunnar’s selfish ass play took away a scoring opportunity. It did. The next play gave us the exact yardage needed. More hate should be directed at the athlete who is no longer just a student.

True story. When we were kids playing football we'd down every kick at the 1 yard line so we could run the touchdown play It was good for 99 yards, 49 yards, etc. depending on the size of the field or lawn.

I will diagram this play on a whiskey soaked coaster if anybody knows how to get it to Sark

The staff has been selling Mark Bowman on Helm and JT. He has family in Texas (I believe Austin), and Gerry said he thinks Texas leads.

So you're saying we might land Gunnar!?!? Out fucking standing.

Great kid and family.  The culture he and others mentioned that Sark has built is 100% legit. Even heard Brooks Kieschnick Sr talk about when he was in the radio booth at the baseball game Saturday.  When nfl organizations recognize it and former pro athletes like Brooks as well there is definitely something to it.

Obviously despite some detractors and their thoughts on tbe subject, pushing through that ankle roll at the combine didn't ruin his pro career before it started.

If he ran a 5.54 or below he'd have been taken much higher, maybe even 3rd off the board for TE.

Good thing he ran a 4.84 40.

Some people actually give a shit about what he would have run uninjured and since I asked him directly what he was running in training consistently with his trainers I figured I'd share that info.

I was poking fun at what I assume was a typo -- 5.54 sec.

I strongly suspect people would absolutely give a shit if he ran a 5.5.

I’ve run into him twice. He and Taaffe took pics with my son (will play at Texas) at Texas-LSU baseball game, and he remembered me from Aspen Spring Break.

…ehhhh, I’m not 100% sure that it’s always a good thing if a player met you before and remembers you later…

It's almost like...no check that- it is exactly as if people that said Gunnar ruined his NFL career before it even started by pushing through a rolled ankle had no idea what the fuck they were talking about
