Of those 6, I feel pretty good about Women's Golf and beach volleyball eventually winning a title under their new coaches. Men's outdoor track and field has been close and Texas recently won an indoor title, so I would not be surprised if we won one relatively soon. Men's basketball is likely always going to be a bit of a long-shot, soccer is obviously hampered by the coach, and we do not seem to care about cross-country at all, so I am not sure that one will ever happen.

I think high altitude schools win xc from training advantage

The only thing she might can measure equal to is the competitive fire in her belly. That she had in abundance, but I doubt anymore that KH did.

June 7Jun 7 Author Popular Post With Reese Atwood's two-out single through the left side to score Kayden Henry, it marked the first first-inning run allowed by Texas Tech's NiJaree Canady since April 17, 2025. With its five first-inning runs to begin Friday's game, Texas has scored the most runs in a single inning (5) against Texas Tech's NiJaree Canady throughout her three-year career. By not allowing an earned run through the game's seven innings, Teagan Kavanextended her consecutive innings pitched at the WCWS without allowing an earned run to 31.2 straight, the longest streak by any Division I pitcher in the event's history. The previous record was 27.2 consecutive innings by Oklahoma State's Amy Day set during the 1994 WCWS. With the victory on Friday night, the Texas softball program set a new program record for most wins in a single season with 56, surpassing the previous mark (55) set by the 2006 and 2024 squads. As a result of winning Friday night's game and clinching the 2025 National Championship, Texas becomes the second-lowest seed (6th) to ever win a NCAA Division I Softball National Championship. Texas becomes the first SEC softball program to win a NCAA Division I Softball National Championship since Florida completed its back-to-back national championship seasons in 2014 and 2015.

Will need to go to the portal to address DP and a corner infielder. Assuming Stewie moves to first or third. A freshman or KB can move to LF. I’ve touched on our incoming class being really good, including both a Mia starter kit and a Bella Dayton starter kit

June 7Jun 7 Author 2000 Oklahoma remains the last team to win the title in their first WCWS appearance 2000 Oklahoma was, I believe, the last team before 2025 Texas to win the title, despite not winning their conference regular season or conference tournament The lowest seeded team before 6-seed Texas to win the title was 10-seed OU in 2017 Also suck it to all the SEC schools who failed to bring a title back to the conference in the past decade. Texas had to do it for you (and not OU!)

Total demon on the basepaths. I've lamented her lack of bunting at times, as it takes nearly perfect defense to keep her off base...but hopefully we'll see more of that next year. An underrated weapon on a team full of firepower.

It’s like WBB, the lowest seeded team to win is a 3 (UNC, Tenn, LSU). In MBB, it was an 8 (Villanova) Women’s sports are so top heavy. An unseeded team didn’t even make the softball finals until 2022 (Texas)

Or Maybe 1B. Def need a great big fat woman from the portal that can mash and see spin (easier said that done). Bonus if she can play 1st. Pitching should get much needed depth with Wells. Crabtree is an IF, but could probably easily play LF, along with Sneed. I think portal priority is a masher for DP/1B. Agree?

I do like to remind everyone (myself included) that Mia was not that good at 3rd her first couple years, she was playing the OF quite a bit. Mia’s development is a testament to what Stewie could eventually be. She got the arm for sure. My portal priorities: Lefty pitcher 1B/DP Potentially another OF Edited June 7Jun 7 by Js1
June 7Jun 7 Author Lost in the shuffle and bed wetting yesterday was Berzon from LSU chose Oklahoma. Gasso gets her rent-an-ace Mike and co developed the shit out this title team. Reese, TK, Mia, Henry, Stewie, Goode, Maloney, Cam. Only Joley (ND), Mac (ASU) and KB (ACU) were the transfers who helped us win a title.

I would argue she's one of the top 3Bin the country, and easily our best defender. She always had the mobility and athleticism to play 3rd. Her glove work improved tremendously.
