March 26, 20187 yr These are channels I find myself watching a lot on our Roku/TV Forgotten Weapons https://www.youtube.com/user/ForgottenWeapons/videos If YouTube removes it: https://www.full30.com/channels/forgottenweapons Exactly what it sounds like - amazing videos of obscure/forgotten weapons - how they worked, why they were forgotten, etc. Over 1,300+ videos. Blog: https://www.forgottenweapons.com Lots of information about really old guns Sister channel (more about testing out weapons) http://www.youtube.com/InRangeTVShow History Buffs https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCggHoXaj8BQHIiPmOxezeWA "A show dedicated solely to reviewing historical movies. Ever wondered how much a film is based on a true story? This is the place to find out" Allthemed Docs https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC_lm3ELScscoQ16v6Syx7aQ Lots and lots of British documentaries. Lots of them. Surprised they have so many up. Including a lot of Time Team episodes (if you like Detectorists, give it a shot). Vintage Space https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCw95T_TgbGHhTml4xZ9yIqg Anything and everything related to older space exploration, mostly focused on NASA in the 1950s and 1960s. Blog: https://vintagespace.wordpress.com Tested https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCiDJtJKMICpb9B1qf7qjEOA Remember Adam Savage from Mythbusters? All kinds of cool stuff. http://www.tested.com Double Toasted https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCp4cuWZKxR5ZNbcWrP1DozA https://doubletoasted.com Mostly reviews, video games, comedy, movies, with trailers thrown in - based here in Austin, and the two main hosts, Corey and Martin met as students at UT (I think in UT's RTF program). Martin in particular has an extensive history/knowledge of comics, so some of their reviews/reactions are pretty informative. I normally don't watch most of their stuff, but given that they went to UT and can put on solid shows, I'll list them here. Example Video:BLACK PANTHER SPOILER TALK - Double Toasted Reviews The 8-Bit Guy https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC8uT9cgJorJPWu7ITLGo9Ww This is so damned nerdy - basically restoring/modding/reviewing old hardware, going back to the 70s. Just nerdy as hell. And interesting at times, since I grew up with some of this stuff. Example Video: How "oldschool" graphics worked Part 1 - Commodore and Nintendo RetroBlasting https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCiQgUHJh80Lu_XGr33eMLmA "analysis and deconstruction of 1980s vintage toys and classic cartoons" - they do a helluva lot of restorations of old 80s toys, including Star Wars, G.I. Joe, He-Man, etc. I'm throwing this in, because they had good videos on restoring G.I. Joe figures - my kids found my box, and all of the legs and arms had fallen off. We've been slowly restoring them so he can play with them. http://www.retroblasting.com Video Example: RetroBlasting Fixing Your Broken G.I. Joes Other honorable mentions Matsimus- Dedicated to (mostly) current military hardware with occasional gaming and humor, from a former Royal Combat Engineer (UK, but now serving in a Canadian reserve unit). Screen Junkies honest trailers - better trailers. DrewTalks - Raspberry Pi and retro-gaming talk. Toy Galaxy - Normally I don't like "list" channels, but they toss in a lot of older toys that were interesting. Red Letter Media - Legendary Star Wars Prequels Reviews... Beyond the Trailer - interesting analysis of some of the comic book trailers/movies Movie Math - Look at box office analysis Nostalgia Critic/Channel Awesome - hit or miss - analysis of old movies. Bad Lip Reading - Pretty self-explanatory Aural Nuts - humor, dubbed movies, etc. - or sometimes they remove the audio, such as Minus Williams - E.T. OSFirstTimer -Something about installing old OSes - some annoying Australian teen with a cute and game Mum - and she tries stuff out. I want her Matildas or something. Primitive Techology - Self-explanatory Linus Tech Tips - The guy annoys the fuck out of me, but occasionally has interesting tech on there. Kevin Smith's channel, but only when it's his partner and not him. Can't stand Smith most of the time, but I like Marc Bernardin. If you watch nothing else, watch Forgotten Weapons and History Buffs.

March 26, 20187 yr Primitive Technology is awesome. Millions of subscribers and not a single word spoken. I wish he released more videos, but my 8 year old loves it. I also like Lost in Vegas for their metal song reviews (by two black guys who don't know much about metal). They got some notice when Dave Mustaine commented on a Megadeth review.
January 23, 20196 yr I've been going down the old vehicle rescue rabbit hole. Don't think these have been mentioned. Addicting as crack coated meth.
