get ready for a website that is going to make your Saturday 1.7 billion times better

https://cfbscoreboard.com

decided to build this after looking all over the place for a guide laid out like this. One gambling site had one a while back but they stopped producing it after a few weeks and it was an image so not interactive.

you can choose the date at the top, defaults to today when you load the page, move to Sep 14 to see tomorrow's slate.

Want to see all the games going on that are within 7 points and in the fourth quarter? Choose 4Q from the what menu and 7 on the width menu and you'll see those games.

the search will look for teams and mascots, so long or horn will show our game. Want to see what all the Texas teams are doing? Put tex in the search and you'll see when us, TxState, North Texas and Tech are playing and on what channel.

As games start the page will update with scores. You can go back to previous days to see what it looks like.

I get the data from ESPN's "hidden api's". Hopefully they don't go away but they do have some quirks with station names.

The different views:

TV chart view - works good on desktop, looks like a channel guide on your tv, still looks like ass on mobile, will make it look better on mobile this week
Boxes - list of all games in boxes, not grouped, good for mobile
Boxes by Time - boxes listed out and grouped by start time
Boxes by Channel - boxes listed out and grouped by channel
Stadium - view for when you are at the game and just want scores. Load the page before you get to the stadium. Click refresh and the scores are around 1k of data, should load super fast even on a shit connection
Things I'm thinking of adding:

betting lines. The data from espn has it for some games but not all
auto refresh scores
graphs of score and win probability

I'll add some ads at some point.

I was thinking of making a paid version for $20 for the season that would include the ability to:

  • pick favorite teams and allow views on main page and stadium for that
  • pick channels to ignore, like peacock if you don't have it
  • include ability to get text updates of scores when at the stadium

Is this something you'd pay for?

Any and all feedback is appreciated. Hope you enjoy using it.

Bookmarked for tomorrow

Will see how it works this weekend and try to give some feedback

question is... are you gonna say its worth tree fiddy and lose it again.....

This is basically what ESPN gives you if you sort by "all FBS" but you should get enough interest purely from folks that detest using ESPN for anything.

but do they have filters so you can just see games in progress, games within 7 points, etc?

one thing that would be awesome if possible would be a hyperlink to the stream from that provider for the game. Kind of like how ESPN includes a 'Watch' button if the game is being broadcast on one of their channels.

just put a streameast or sportsurge link at the bottom of the page...

They do not.

Was mainly referring to the view that it defaults to.

$20 is well worth it.  Given what I spend during the football season it's not even a nit.

seems like a quick way to get your shit shut down by putting a link to pirated streams

yeah, not linking to pirate streams, will look into the others

Yeah, but it sucks, especially on mobile. Sometimes it doesn't update. It is slow. Sometimes it just says fuck you. Sometimes it doesn't tell you much about TV. The new format looks like it would much easier to use.

Great idea. I find that all the major sports sites get worse and worse and organizing schedules.

In the current status, I suggest a hard demarcation line between days, so that it is obvious that there was a game last night, and one tonight.

what device/browser are you on?

are you behind a firewall or work network?

the site only displays one day at a time, chosen from the top left dropdown

The ability to get text updates of in progress games and stadium mode is worth the $20 alone. Count me in when this is live.

I'm assuming this defaults to my local time, correct?

Yes, I was on our work guest network. That’s probably what the issue is. It works now at home.

Can you provide a link to the cheerleaders for every team?

Looks like it adjusts to whatever time zone you're in, but is there a way to show what time zone you're looking at so people don't get confused?

Also, it needs more burnt orange. One button is not enough.

Yes, defaults to local time of your browser/device

Yeah, just registered the domain the other day so nanny type programs will block it for a week or two

If you can find an api with that info I will add it

Wanted to be subtle and not scare off all other fanbases

This is a really cool idea. I'm constantly bouncing around between google and my Score app trying to hunt down all this info.

good shyte man thx

Its really cool, but for me $20 - I probably wouldn't do it, 3.99, 4.99 wouldn't blink at doing it.  $20 seems high for something I really don't "need" but $3-$5 I'd do it and might get hooked and accept a price hike later.

Width probably needs to be changed to "Current Score Range" or something of the like...

Works well so far though

Was thinking $5  a month or $20 for the whole season

I think I'd probably pitch in $20 or $5 per month to have a single point source like this. I hate digging for shit cause I'm a lazy fat slob and I'm not alone.

Really nice layout and function.  The stadium view is the only one not terribly intuitive, but I was able to figure out what it was showing and how to filter and get out of it after 30 seconds or so.  I don’t think it provides much value to a user, though.  I also think “Lead” or “Score Gap” is a more intuitive title for the “Width” view.

If I were you, I’d only give away the TV Chart view that can be filtered by date.  Everything else would be on a paid version.  People will come, Ray.

The idea behind the stadium view is for you to be able to get scores when you are at the stadium. Load the page before you get to the stadium and score updates only take 1k and should load even on the worst connection.

Would pay a lot more to have legitimate live streams to most games across platforms and be the Sunday ticket equivalent. No clue how you’d pull that off but would provide an unmatched uvp.

make a vpn version that DOES link to streams

one year ad-free sub $49.95

free with one static ad and no adserver enshittification?

I won’t use it, but if you did $3.50 a month I’d sign up just for the bit
