August 20, 20187 yr I should be in. I might have a buddy or two that might be interested. I should know this week.
August 23, 20187 yr Surly question to settle a debate. Have a pcikem league. 8 games a week vs spread. Assign confidence points 1-8. The debate is about a PUSH. MO is that no points should be awarded or advantage gained from a push (incorrect answer). The opposing view is that no punishment should be imposed (losing the ability to gain those points) for not incorrectly Pickering the outcome. The argument boils down to where you start. Do you start week one with zero points and earn points for each correct pick? Or do you start with 36 points and “wager” them and lose points for each loss? There is an advantage either way, but MO is that if there has to be an advantage the lower confidence was closer to the correct answer vs the higher. Lesser of two evils. Bottom line: do you start at zero and win points or start at 36 (the max) and lose points? what say you Surl? Edited August 23, 20187 yr by ChickenSandwich
August 23, 20187 yr Author I say you start at 0 and earn the points so in the event of a tie it's worth 0. I get the other side though because if you bet $10.00 on a game and it pushes you get your money back. Tough call but ill go with no points.
August 25, 20187 yr Commish contradicts himself with answer. Says we start at zero and each points for each win, but will award points for a push as well. But it can help slightly just to know that over a season and place games with even low numbered spreads towards the top of confidence because there are now two ways to win. (Correct spread pick or push both win points)
August 26, 20187 yr Probably a dumb question but how does this work? Does ESPN pick the 10 games and each person picks or does each person pick their 10 games?

Yes. Espn has 10 games every week that they select. You pick winner of each game with no point spread. All correct selections are worth 1 point.
