November 2Nov 2 Popular Post Thumb dislocation = likely not back before playoffs IF it needs surgery. The talk about could have come back tends to make me think that surgery is not expected. Some finger (and thumb) dislocations are stable once popped back into place. Even those, however, are going to be associated with some degree of tearing or peeling of ligaments and some swelling while they heal. I can't remember treating one of these in a skill player, if I've done it for an athlete at all. Wheel of fortune IMO.
November 2Nov 2 Not an ortho but I’ve had 3 non surgical finger dislocations that I’ve reset in the past 2 years in high-school athletes and all were back at it in 3 weeks or less. Big caveats: 1.None were thumbs. 2. None were having to catch piss missiles from Arch Manning.
November 2Nov 2 Popular Post I dislocated my middle finger when I punched my buddy's fist during a disorderly disagreement. A random dude said he was an EMT, so I let my buddy buy me a shot and then the rando EMT pulled my middle finger back into place. Shit still hurts seven years later.

November 2Nov 2 Couple months ago I leaned back on the couch with my fingers interlocked across my chest. Woke up about 2 hours later and had pulled my middle finger out of socket I guess. Still hurts like a mfer. Getting old is dumb
November 2Nov 2 Doctors in the chat, what would a player do to come back and play in 2 weeks if it’s a dislocation? Just curious what kind of shots or pain relief they would give on gameday and what kind of braces that might be used that would still give him use of that hand/thumb in the game.
November 2Nov 2 I'm not a doctor, but I reset my own thumb in high school, just out of instinct. I didn't miss any time. It was sore for a couple weeks, but good as gold. Maybe it depends which thumb joint? Mine was at the base closest to my hand...his looked to be more in the middle? Sark even said, Wingo could've come back in if needed.
November 2Nov 2 Wife and I were on campus for an early morning pre-party with our son. He had game tix, so we decided to try out the Victory Lap. Excellent experience. Environment was electric from the outset with that Wingo play. Loved seeing the fighting Pavias get repeatedly punched in the mouth.

I'm not sure if you are trying to insult me or be a dick, but no because it's a really cool place to watch the game and a great setup with other longhorns fans with good game sound, food and drink throughout the game.
November 2Nov 2 It was purely a joke from the other thread. Yeah, next time we're able to make it out there we'll put it on the list and donate too. Thanks.

November 2Nov 2 While that hot streak has been fraught with some injury news, the Longhorns seemingly got a positive update on Sunday when it comes to one of their best offensive players. According to On3's Pete Nakos, wide receiver Ryan Wingo is not expected to miss any time going forward after being forced to exit Saturday's game against Vanderbilt with a thumb injury. https://x.com/PeteNakos_/status/1985099775386026319?ref_src=twsrc^tfw|twcamp^tweetembed|twterm^1985099775386026319|twgr^c9bf75e5427e50680d578cf91b46d58526f5a370|twcon^s1_c10&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Flonghornswire.usatoday.com%2Fstory%2Fsports%2Fcollege%2Flonghorns%2Ffootball%2F2025%2F11%2F02%2Ftexas-football-ryan-wingo-injury-update%2F87055883007%2F Edited November 2Nov 2 by Cairn Horn88

November 16Nov 16 With a dislocated thumb i can see the issue with the drops, what was more unexpected was how easily he went down last night. Finger tackles, turf monster with nothing but green out front
November 16Nov 16 With the drops and the slip on multiple plays including the first one thet he may have had enough space to house, I joked with my gambling friends that perhaps he was on the take.

I was a big believer in them not giving up, but last night this team gave up a lot of that comes from guys like this not doing their part and causing a breakdown in trust between the team. The team played a lot better with him on the sidelines during Vandy when there was schematically different targets. He's in the doghouse and I'm not sure there's a way out for me until he has a few games with no drops and starts to really up the physicality in his game contesting catches, making catches and fighting for yards after the catch.
