Man, I hate to do it, but it's time for me to part with the equipment collecting dust in the garage.

  • 10 Gallon Mash Tun with false bottom (Lowes / Home Depot converted water cooler)
  • 5 gallon hot liquor tank. (Lowes / Home Depot converted water cooler)
  • 15 gallon keggle with ball valve
  • Counterflow chiller, copper.
  • pump used for the cooling process
  • Converted mini fridge for fermentation chamber (with external thermostat)
  • 2 glass carboys
  • couple ball valve cory kegs , more brew buckets than you could need

Been thinking about doing the same.

Oof.  I haven't brewed anything since last year, but I know family will be disappointed if I don't have the usuals available for Thanksgiving.  Went to the Austin Homebrew site to order stuff and it's gone to complete shit, including the prices.  I've started saving the PDFs of their good recipes while they're still available (though you can't order the kits anymore).

I guess Great Fermentations or MoreBeer are supposed to be good to order from, any thoughts?

I pretty much exclusively order from MoreBeer now. Pricing and shipping are decent.

I brewed one batch last year and even then, that was the first in a year and a half. I have 6 taps empty. I might keep the little fridge with two taps inside for making topo but I’m seriously thinking about ditching the keezer, tuns, 220 brew rig, etc.

I actually haven’t had any alcohol in 6 weeks as of yesterday. Anybody got an easy seltzer recipe for a corny?

I don't think I've brewed since I moved into the new house.  Family life definitely replaced my brew days.  Luckily we still get the occasional keg from Total Wine to keep the house stocked, but it's to the point where it's cheaper to just get a keg rather than try to brew it.  $40 for the supplies, 6-8 hours of time, half a bottle of propane, and 2 weeks+ waiting, or I can just go get a keg at TW for $60...

The fall of Austin Homebrew Supply was the nail in the coffin for many it seems.
