September 26, 20241 yr my algorithm tonight has sent me down a rabbit hole of videos of youtubers covering those “hook up artist” guys, and this shit is downright hard to watch…except that i can’t stop. i’ll also say that in 2024 youtube has become for me what netflix was years ago- by far my number one used streaming service. there’s just endless content on endless subjects. it’s become my go-to for when i want to find something to watch that i’ve never seen before. September 26, 20241 yr Author gus johnson is someone i’ve found who cracks me up. maybe it’s because he’s like my midwestern cousin, just out here recording goofy shit with his mom, but i like his inane, super low production videos.
September 26, 20241 yr By far my favorite thing on YouTube. Colin from Below Deck bought a hurricane damaged catamaran, salvaged it and headed off around the world. They are currently in Fiji.
September 26, 20241 yr This video sent me on a rabbit hole of clips of the British show 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, hosted by Jimmy Carr. It’s a gameshow based on jumble style word puzzles and rapid math problems, but this version is all comedians. It’s hilarious (and Rachel is awesome): Edited September 26, 20241 yr by Buzzrock
September 26, 20241 yr I've been watching American Revolution stuff - I love her chest accent and demeanor And I always watch every Time Team episode and video - this is their monthly news video, but each project is 2-3 hours or more over multiple videos
September 26, 20241 yr YT’s algo is excellent. Pushes me stuff I actually like. And if there are political dumkopf’s on there, it does not force them on me. Custom home builder in Austin: https://www.youtube.com/mattrisinger He keeps his politics in check enough for me: https://www.youtube.com/@BrandonHerrera Total gun nerd here: https://www.youtube.com/@ForgottenWeapons He has several channels: https://www.youtube.com/@megaprojects9649 From there the algo takes over and gives me similar good stuff. And lately it’s been pushing vids of surly donkeys (clean, wholesome stuff.) Edited September 26, 20241 yr by Parliament

I was today years old when I learned Colombia had M1 Garands rechambered in .308. 12 of them. Can’t believe I went this long not knowing that.
September 26, 20241 yr Have playing on a loop... Find myself watching a lot of videos on street food vendors from other countries, skills they show are impressive, imo.

September 26, 20241 yr No, I didn’t know about those Garands being converted. As an army brat, the only weapons I got to handle were a 1911, an M1A Carbine, and an M3 Grease Gun. While with my Dad & brothers at a small post range in Puerto Rico 70 years ago, I got to shoot the first two after his sergeant gave us some basic instruction. Hated the .45 because of the recoil in my 10 year old hands, but the carbine was fun. We were only allowed to handle the M3..

September 28, 20241 yr This couple is cool and just relocated to south Texas https://www.youtube.com/@CandEAdventures
September 28, 20241 yr Chudd’s BBQ is an excellent BBQ channel and he’s in Austin. This dude makes everything from scratch. Also fabricates pits and other gear. https://youtube.com/@chudsbbq?si=Nb--Y2TcM4tbQSkm Also stumbled across Harry Mack. He’s a freestyle rapper. Even if rap is not your cup of tea he’s insanely talented. Give this video a watch to see what he does.

Hell, I've seen one chambered in .458 Win Magnum.

October 15, 20241 yr Author jeff teague currently has my favorite podcast going, and that includes mssp. even if you don’t like basketball you can appreciate his hilarious and raw storytelling about all kinds of shit that goes on on the court and behind the scenes in the nba. hilarious guy.
October 15, 20241 yr Rick Beato. There's a whole thread elsewhere dedicated to his channel, and deservedly so. He gets guests nobody else has been able to interview, and asks intelligent questions that nobody else asks. Kitboga. Scamming the scammers for fun and profit. Map Men Map Men Map Map Map Men Men -- Geography that is funny. There I ruined it -- Ruining your favorite hits PBS SpaceTime -- learning about Physics 66Samus -- stupidly talented metal drummer among others

Like in today's video, when they demonstrate how to play Geoguessr, quietly showing very obviously wrong answers. Or whenever there's something written in a notebook, on screen for a split second, and you see a ton of hilarious messages in there.
October 15, 20241 yr I've been watching Jenny Nicholson for 10 years. Her last video really blew up. I find her review of movies more entertaining than the actual movie.
October 15, 20241 yr The raw room guys are great. This short of two of them watching grown men play in a tackle football league is hysterical. The original clip that got me into them.
October 17, 20241 yr Author if you’re interested in boots-on-the-ground reporting on all kinds of different people/groups/stories you should give this channel a try: https://youtube.com/@channel5youtube?si=7O6WNR13xLYJOPaw

October 25, 20241 yr Author i’m liking this guy’s channel so far. proms are insane, and if it wasn’t part of our culture the whole idea would seem very strange. Edited October 26, 20241 yr by Derka
November 7, 20241 yr One of the YouTube/Google Play free channels is called the "Family Affair Channel" constantly running a show called, you guessed it, Frank Stallone, Family Affair. I'll save you the trouble: There are no attractive step-mothers or step-daughters. There are no broken dishwashers or clothes dryers or deep and narrow kitchen cabinets to get stuck in. It's just a cheesy/sappy 1960s sitcom with Brian Keith having to suddenly adopt his nieces and nephews.
November 7, 20241 yr We've been watching Taskmaster. It's a British show where a group of comedians are given funny tasks to complete for points. Each season is around 8 episodes and the comedian with the most points wins. It's very funny and there are a bunch of seasons, all of which are on YouTube.
November 14, 20241 yr If you like car builds and bare midriffs and car builds, I really like Sarah-n-Tuned. She’s a total nerd and very handy not to mention a tall drink of water. I really like her quirky personality and she does some cool builds and reviews.
