Jimmy's only leverage is threatening to play for the heat next season lol.

CBA should allow a player to buy themselves out of their contract.  Jimmy can pay the Heat 20 million to cancel his deal etc.

Come in your trap, whip your ass, then give your HC's kids game-worn jerseys because we feel bad that your house burned down.

Spurs/Lakers has to be one of the most underrated rivalries.

You want players to be able to buy themselves into free agency?

HILARIOUS: #NBA stars Devin Booker & Kevin Durant have a bet for this week’s #Commanders - #Lions game• If the Lions win: KD must thank Draymond Green for his 2 rings• If the Commanders win: Booker must write a public Father’s Day card to Luka Doncic

Two guys that are (or will be) worth 9 figures giving their jerseys to the kids of another guy worth 9 figures. I'm having a hard time keeping it together. Those kids might just make it after all.

Can anyone ever just do something nice? Kid likes to collect stuff and just lost it all in a fire.

I'm not saying Wemby,CP,or the kids did anything wrong. I'm just stating it's a tone deaf tweet by the NBA considering the thousands of kids in the LA area in the same situation whose parents aren't worth 9 figures. Some kids were probably sleeping in cars last night, not court side at daddy's NBA game getting game worn jerseys.

Maybe the point is to inspire other people to do nice things and have compassion so that those other kids get help too.

So fine, have Wemby and CP give jerseys to kids whose folks aren't worth 9 figures. I found it tone deaf AF on the part of the NBA, you didn't. There's not much to argue here.

I get where you're coming from. I really do. But this was personal because former teammates Chris Paul and JJ Reddick are reportedly very close friends. It was a friend lifting the spirits of his friend's kids who just lost all of their sports memorabilia that they had been collecting their whole lives. I have a hard time viewing that as tone deaf, despite how wealthy they all are.

No Chet, and now no Hartenstein.

Oklahoma City Thunder center Isaiah Hartenstein will be re-evaluated in approximately one week after he suffered a left soleus strain against the Philadelphia 76ers Tuesday night, team says. Hartenstein has averaged 11.8 points, 12.2 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and 1.3 blocks for OKC

Celtics looking rough recently.

Not sure if they are old or just bored.

That'll do it here in Toronto. This is going to be a bad, bad loss for the Celtics, whose 28-12 record just won't tell the story of the team they are at the moment.

Old?  Al is 38, Jrue is 34, D White is 31, Porzingis is 30, Brown is 28.  Definitely an extended head-up-ass period - much too long.  I've gone from not worried, just a weird rough patch that will work itself out, to wondering wtf is happening?  Like, legit confused at how this team is playing this poorly vs shitty, truly inferior teams.

I say that, and I do have concern overall, but even though we've played incredibly inconsistent lately, we also have wins over the Pacers, @ Wolves, @ Rockets and @ Nuggets in the last 2 weeks.  Still, losing to the 10th place Kings, fighting like hell to beat the 9W Pelicans and losing to the 9 10W Raptors is nauseating.

Golden State is clowning the T-wolves.

Nothing scares me more than a depleted, wounded team on life support with a couple of shooters.

I’d rather face denver or OKC than that bullshit last night

3 straight times Golden State has played Minnesota whilst their season felt like it was barely hanging by a thread, about to implode altogether, and 3 straight times they've won. Thank you, Minnesota, for postponing the inevitable.

Ja with the best dunk that didn't count in the history of the sport last night?

Russ getting the entire Rockets staff and bench to crack up while talking shit on Jalen Green is hilarious:

“God damn boy. He used to play on my AAU team talking to me like I’m a little ass kid”.Russ talking to Jalen Green LMFAO

Ja aint an ordinary guy but guys are starting to act like Rocky when he cut Drago.  "See he's human!"   Last yr guys were pump faking and running away from the lane when he was in there.  This yr, they seem to be going at him a lot more.   He's been dunked on quite a few times this yr.   I didnt even know Coby White dunked and he got Wemby a couple weeks ago.

Ja’s dunk is hilarious in that such a spectacular feat counted for exactly zero points. Dude has an incredible highlight reel of “almost” that supersedes a lot of great dunkers best ones. People are still losing to Wemby at the rim and continue to run away, but Ja doesn’t care. Dude is special, but I worry that he’s going to Derek Rose himself.

Went to the OKC/Cleveland game tonight. Damn.......that was the loudest that building has been in a while. Place was nuts.

OKC looks to have some talent.

OKC is fairly frightening. They are destroying the league without Holmgren and for the most part, without Hartenstein too. They are just small balling it with crazy shit like Jalen or Jaylin Williams playing center and crushing teams. Mobley and Allen should have dominated last night. Of course, it was a one off and OKC definitely had the motivation from the previous loss plus home court. Regardless, the depth and perimeter defense are pretty ridiculous. Also, they are doing all this while not shooting it great from three. They shot 39% last year and are at 35% this year. If the long ball comes around a little more... jeez.

The only thing that would concern me long term a little is how dependent they are offensively on SGA creating on his own. Don't get me wrong, the dude is a fucking witch, but there's a ton of one on one. It's much more difficult to play like that in the playoffs when the refs allow more physical play and teams can really dial in on tendencies. It may not make a difference as good as they are defensively and as good as he is individually, but I'm just not wild about the offense they run.

Was there, too.  Great atmosphere, especially for a weeknight game in January.  Without Hartenstein, I thought they'd get rolled.  Guess not.

It's easy to say they're small but they're all tall and long, relative to position.  There are no 6'2" guards and while J Dub is a bit short on height, he has a 7'2" wingspan.  Even Shai has a 6'11" wingspan.  Having Caruso back is a big deal for them.  He gives them three elite, on ball, wing defenders.  (Himself, Dort, and Cason Wallace.)  That means they can play 1 or 2 of them with the second unit and bench dudes aren't scoring on them.  The other players are still pretty good on defense and always swiping for the ball and when they get the turnover, they can all move, handle, shoot, and finish.

It's remarkable that they've done all this without having a healthy roster for even one game.  Hartenstein will be back in a week or so and Chet maybe a month, which will make them better on defense and Chet is arguably their second best offensive player.

If their supporting cast just hit shots then they'll be awful tough to stop in a 7 game series.  I think the entire roster is also under contract for next season as well.

Went back and looked at Dononvan Mitchell's two games against OKC this year.  (Guarded by Dort.)  3-16 and 3-16

If fully healthy, that's still a good finals match up.  Lots of chess pieces and both teams have a lot of similarities.

Reminder that Joel Embiid has refused to play in Denver for 1,897 days (5.2 Years)Not surprisingly, he has been ruled out of 76ers @ Nuggets on Tuesday

I saw a proposal of a 2031 1st, Strus and Niang, and maybe some 2nds for Cam. That seems alright I guess, I'm just not sure the Nets would go for all that salary in return.

People are treating Cam Johnson like he is some all-pro savant.  He is a decent role player playing on a shitty team.  He was a 6-7th option the last time he played competitive ball.

Every yr or two there is some middling guy that is touted by talking heads as being the key to winning a title.   Robert Covington, OG Anunoby, and more.   Its pretty funny

Am I just an old guy now or should pricks like this not be allowed to do this shit? Apparently he does this every game to visiting players and posts on TikTok for clout (got that from the comments).  I'm all for banning twats that do this for life.

Naz reid threatens a heckler courtside after getting called for a foul “i’ll smack the shit out you” 😳
