Five more years at his current statistical pace and two more titles?  He’d probably end up with 5 MVPs (Russell, Jordan; only behind Kareem) in that scenario.

Hard to see him as the GOAT because of his personality/team market. But at his current pace he may be considered the best offensive player ever, and I think he’s already in the conversation as the best offensive big man ever.

Yep. I agree with everything you said. I don't see him getting two more titles in Denver though. We'll see.

Current CBA is gonna make that really tough.

Tyrese Haliburton with perhaps the shot of the year - just an insanely good play design by Carlisle.

Damn. I was wondering how they won watching scores on the crawl.

Probably a three year window to win even one more and they won’t be the favorites in any of them.

Are deflections just steals plus plays where the ball is deflected? Like - do blocks count? If so Wemby would be 2nd at least - not sure if there's a GP minimum.

On ESPN.

Shame the 2nd game isn't any good.

A block is an altered shot, a deflection is an altered pass.

I'm fired up for this game.  Hard to believe the Celtics will match the shittiness of that 1st game in OKC.

OKC and Boston aren't really playing for much though.

Denver/Minny has a lot more on the line.

Murray, Jokic and Gordon all on the injury report.  Not great for the Nuggets.  Have to believe Gordon sits for sure.  Not sure on the other 2.

Got it - should have known blocks don't count based on who the top 5 is.

The NBA definition is:

Quote

The number of times a defensive player or team gets their hand on the ball on a non-shot attempt.

So I'm assuming it counts strip-steals and loose-ball steals in addition to interceptions and non-steal deflections?

OKC/Boston highly entertaining.  Boston shot 36 three's in the first half.  Jeez.  I think they said the record is 75 or something?

OKC 18-25 on two point shots.

Okie City not playing with the good Jalen Williams, though.  Caruso also out.

Man is OKC long. SGA is amazing. No weak link on D to attack. Hoping someone takes them out in the playoffs before the finals.

Agreed.  I'd rather the Cavs play someone else from the West.

OKC seems to be a bad matchup for Boston.

Jalen Williams and Caruso didn't even play, either.

This is only the second time I've watched Boston play this season and they seem limited and boring AF.  They just throw the ball around until someone jacks a three.  OKC is a terrible matchup them, to your point.  Everyone on that team is long and can defend.  They can put Dort on Jaylen Brown and let everyone else switch.  Dort has completely shut down Brown in two games so far.

Not sure about boring - they’re a hell of a lot more exciting when they’re hitting 3’s. 4-26 from 3 in the 2nd half isn’t going to win any games.

It does annoy me that they don’t make more of an effort to get into the paint some other way than ball screen, which makes it so easy to settle for the 3.

Boston's success in the postseason will hinge on Porzingis' health.

If he's healthy, Boston is probably the favorites.  If not, they will not beat the Cavs or OKC in a 7 game series.

I'm not giving OKC a pass to the Finals, fellas. For one I think Minny is a bad matchup.

One of Boston or CLE will assuredly be there barring weird injuries, however.

Ant is one of the best 5 players in the league I don't care what the metrics say. Dude gets unreal shit out of his teammates.

Twice Denver has closed the gap and he's hit an absurd 3.

denvers gonna need to start thinking about shelving Jokic before the playoffs and worry less about seeding.

I think if you rank the players in this players, obv joker is the best...and Id say the next 4-5 best players are on the Wolves

I'm telling everyone in the West that you better watch the fuck out.

Wouldn't be surprised at all to see Minny in the WCF again.

Ant may be the 2nd best player in the conference. His leadership and intangibles and the way he has these cats playing is terrifying. Especially if they routinely get this version of Randle.

thisll be 11 straight wins with Randle in the line up dating back to before he strained his groin a few weeks before the ASB..we were on a 5 game streak when he went down

Honestly I wouldn't be surprised to see some jockeying to avoid this team if 2-4 stays as tight as it is.

Curious to see if GS and MIN can catch HOU who just beat Phoenix tonight but the Suns are awful.

Wolves have the easiest strength of schedule remaining by far, a lot of these WC playoff teams still have to play each other. we have 1 game @ den and 1 @ memphis left .

Warriors are going to keep winning though.

This is what I was talking about like a week ago when I said the West standings race down the stretch is fascinating.

I just love your team and I love Ant. I think there is a lot of value in not being reliant on geriatric superstars like LA or GS. And LA is displaying the exact fucking issues right now that I brought up post Luka trade.

Meanwhile Memphis is getting hot.

I'm so ready. This is going to be fun. I don't think I've been this in since Durant's last run in '21.

This is kinda funny/annoying. OKC coach pretends to have a sub ready at halfcourt, but doesn't ever sub him in. This forces the refs to try to stop every in-bounds play, and stall Denver from quickly putting the ball into play.

I think it's pretty shitty on OKC's part. The ball is in the other player's hands after the refs check it, and if the defense isn't paying attention, that's on them. I don't think there is anything wrong with that, and as a fan, I prefer to see the flow of the game move more quickly. One of my biggest pet peeves is how many game time stops there are in the NBA. There are already too many timeouts, free throws are slow, etc etc. Trying to slow down your opponent's inbounds plays is just annoying.  It will be interesting to see if this technique is used in the WCF when they meet.

Ant was awesome last night. Seemed like every long rebound on a Wolves miss would go right to a Wolves player and he’d then hit a three.

Nuggets with three games in four nights (back to back with OKC to start) and it showed.

This grinds my gears, actually.  There are a lot of 3 games in 4 nights going on around the entire league.  7 games in 11 days or something.  Can they keep the 82 game schedule but just spread it out?  Maybe start a week earlier in October and go into mid to late April on the back end?  No one likes seeing teams rest their players but I completely understand why they do it.

Then you get to the playoffs and they're playing games like every 3 to 4 days and THAT drags out for two months.

Agreed. NBA schedule is awful. Either reduce the number of games or extend the season out.  The back end with the playoffs usually leads into boring summer months with just baseball

The dumbest thing I've ever seen was Minny and OKC playing a back to back a few weeks ago.  First game was in Minny with an 8:30 tip.  Both teams then flew to OKC and landed at 2 a.m. or something for a 7 pm tip the next night.  Why?

No way the refs let him do it again. He got hit with a delay of game after not subbing for several times.

lol they landed at the aiirport one right after another in OKC. Lakers have 6 games starting tonight through a week from tonight, 3 back to backs. make up from the fires.

theyre the team to watch. no rui, hayes or lebron tonight vs Milwaukee, doubt all 3 play tomorrow @ denver. who knows when lebron will be back. and they still have tough games.

Spurs would probably be Kawhi lol

r/NBATalk - Do you agree?

Go to a 68 game schedule and front load it a little bit so when we get down to the playoff races nobody is resting guys because they’re only playing 2-3 games a week.

It’ll never happen obviously because money/gate from the 41 home games, but it should happen.

What's that? Reduce the number of games + add another in-season tournament?
