I never liked Ferry when he was on the Cavs in the 90s. Always seemed like an overpaid asshole.

Rumor has it that Ron Harper was fucking Gordon Gund's daughter so Gund demanded that Harper be shipped out.  Have no idea if that's true but it makes for a good story.

In Ferry's defense, he is the only guy (that I know of) who took a swing at MJ during a game.  That almost redeems his shitty play.

No Tatum, no Brown, the Celtics look to the end of the bench in the 4th vs the Nets…

Do white guys just get like superpowers in Boston or what?

Obviously caught fire, but it probably helps when the GM drafts a perfect fit for the offense.  He's a 24yo rookie who spent 5 years in college, and he's been crushing in Maine w/ 20.4ppg shooting 10 3s a game.  Gotta say, it was hella impressive - it's not like he was in the whole game and getting buckets here and there.  Starting at the end of the 3rd, he just went on a tear.  Hit a buzzer beater to end the 3rd....but Mazzula called a TO, so he went right back out and hit another buzzer beater.  After that, it was on.  My favorite was the heat check chuck he takes at 1:30 in this vid - first out on the break, no Celtics inside the arc, fires from 28' and gets the friendly bounce.  In those ~11min he went 6/6 (5/5 from 3) w/ 2 boards and a steal.

And will never have to buy another meal/drink in Boston for as long as he remains a Celtic.

kinda wish more stories would come out like this so more fans would chill out on hating players who do what’s best for them and redirect that anger at douchebag gm’s and front office people.

Fans are always gonna be pissed when a player leaves their team for more money (FANatic). That fact that Jeff Teague couldnt sag his pants after a big win isnt going to change that reality. Owners and management get plenty of hate as well (see the Dallas Mavericks). Plenty of douchebags to go around in the NBA and its not limited to just players, just management, or just owners.

Epic battle tonight between OKC and Philly.  OKC owns the pick, top 6 protected.  Philly sitting there at 6th worst in the league and rolling out a G League roster.  OKC's "injury" report is SGA, Dort, Cason, Jalen Williams, Hartenstein.  Chet is "available."

So looks like the fines are going to have to be higher and more frequent. Any fan who paid to watch this deserves a full refund. You want to see all of OKC’s best players out there. Instead Grimes will probably put up 50 tonight for Philly and they’ll still lose.

Anyone paying to see this fucking Philly team at this point deserves whatever they get.

They sat Jokic and Murray tonight. Going about as you might expect in LA without those two. Luka is obviously an elite talent, but 21 in the 1st quarter isn’t happening if Jokic is playing.

Luka with another ho hum 31-9-7. I keep waiting for him to have a good game.

I still can't believe you said that shit about Tre Johnson.

Give it time. Eventually he’ll snap out of his funk.

To be fair, Dort, Wallace, and Dub have actual injuries. They just played 8 games in 14 games. Absolutely no reason for SGA to potentially roll an ankle against a 76ers team that isn’t even trying. And they won by 33.

Them winning by 33 is the best thing about it.  It was basically the Thunder bench vs the Philly deep bench.  Philly seems like they kinda suck.

The NBA is looking into them doing something similar against Portland a few weeks ago and they won by 20.

Sandro Mamukelashvili sees your Scheierman and raises

34 pts in 19mins 7/7 3pts against the Knicks

If Presti had this bench (and head coach) when KD and Russ were in okc, they’d have a couple banners. 38 year old Derek fisher was our best bench guy for two years. Lol

Ha!  Just saw that like 2 min ago and did a doubletake!  Plus, he's friends w/ Flavor Flav, who was in the house.

Oh, easily.  Outside of KD and Russ and maybe Paul George later, those teams were painful to watch on offense.  I wouldn't watch much during the regular season and I remember being surprised about how bad some of the supporting cast was on offense.  I get what Presti was trying to do at the time with "positionless basketball" but he'd get these guys who were great on defense and fit that mold but had zero offensive skills at all.  They're were asking the 2 or 3 stars to basically bring their A game every single game.

He nailed it this time, though.  Outside of the bigs, they've got 7-8 guys who fit that mold but they can all shoot this time.  They're all wings that are long and athletic who are great on defense but can all shoot reasonably well.  Even the bigs are pretty versatile and they can shoot, too. Seriously, who is the 9th man on that team?  Is it Caruso?  He was first team all defense in Chicago and is a 35% 3 point shooter.

$6.1 billion seems like a lot for a team that does not own its own facility, does not have a partner WNBA team, etc.

Yeah, that's a steep assed price but it is one of the brand names in all of American sports.

Now that there is a baseline for what expansion teams are going to cost, even the league is loving it.

YEP!!!!   All the other owners get to split that expansion money.   Players get none of that.    They will probably ask for around 3-4B/per new team.  Crazy money!

Thats....low.   One of the reasons the League was paying close attention to what the Celtics brought was to get a good idea of what the pricetag was going to be for an expansion team.

It is going to be closer to $6 billion.

I would disagree.  $6B for a team without an arena is absurdly high but it's the Celtics, which is one of the top brands in all of sports.

A new team is just that.  It has no brand.  It also depends on which city the teams are in.  Seattle would be worth more than Vegas.  (I assume those are going to be the two.)  Actually, I'd add teams to those two cities and move the Grizzlies or Pelicans to Nashville.  I'd let one of them buy into that option, if possible.

Yep, I know we are talking about obscenely rich folks but paying 6B just for the franchise would be a tough sell

Cant imagine people (even obscenely rich ones) coming in and paying what the most expensive franchise ever just sold for when they would still have to get an arena, staff, players, etc.   That is why I went a little lower.

The guy buying the Celtics didn’t get the arena.

He didnt but everything else is already in place including the fanbase and one of the biggest brands in sports.   That is what he was paying for.

Yeah. For sure

My argument is the expansion teams are now going to be priced between the Suns (4b) and the Celtics (6b). I think 5 billion is the going price.

Yeah I don't think they're winning 70 games.

Also Phoenix finally has a pep in their step. Imagine if they gave a shit, idk, 30 games ago.

Josh Giddey messed around and had a triple double last night.  While not a great fit in OKC, I was always a fan of his skill set unrelated to guessing the ages of girls.  He's played really well as of late.  20/8/6 during February while 50% FG and 53% from 3.  So far in March, 21/9/9 and 52% FG and 35% from 3.

He's a RFA after this season so it'll be interesting what the Bulls do.  If he's in a system where he's the full time PG, I always thought he could put up All Star level numbers like he has the last two months.  He's not great on defense, though.

I still think that trade worked out well for everyone involved.  Caruso is a better fit in OKC and Giddey is getting more exposure in a contract year.
